I had three hours of meetings this morning! I love being early to this thread, but it was not to be today.
I was boring the first week and pretty cool last week, so let's see what happens this week!
I recorded a couple tunes with my regular studio musicians last year, and I'm taking it in to be mastered next week! Very excited to finally get some of *my* stuff out there and recorded, rather than just stuff I'm producing/mixing/assisting on.
One of my fondest memories is, a couple summers ago, driving out into the boonies of Alberta with a couple of friends and getting toasted on a bottle of Kraken that we all passed around. Then wandering around in the beautiful summer night. *Turn Turn Turn plays*
I made a bizarre batch of Kahlua-cocoa cookies last night that turned out alright. They were bizarre in that I made them without any kind of recipe, which normally is a no-no for me as a baker. But they have a nice texture and taste yummy so I consider it a success!
Wow. That song fits perfectly with the style of the show. Good job, AMC creative.
Feminist Ryan Gosling is legitimately amazing.
Passing 7th Heaven hatereaders: do yourselves all a favor and watch this. It's amazing.
Fine! Whatever! This DOG is your new president!
Gilliam's early work on the Evil Dead trilogy can't be undersold, though.
Gladly!!! Oh my!
I'm really enjoying this new, non-fact based approach to film criticism.
"And believe me, I know a little something about regret. I regret the
time, that I got 'high' and wrote a hit song and it made me insane
amounts of coin. Coin I used to buy more drugs. And a motor boat. And a
house for my mom. Plus I gave some to charity."
The IRS has been "cracking down", if you know what I mean.
I'm a big Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus booster. It putters around aimlessly from time to time, but there are some great moments and stellar performances. Plus the movie is absolutely gorgeous.
Benicio Del Toro absolutely owns in Fear and Loathing, though.
Probably not after already doing "Daria", but there's no chance of covering the "Clone High" musical episode, is there?
The little look Peggy gives herself after that moment is absolutely amazing.
I'd really like to recommend the audiobook version of Bossypants. Tina Fey's comic delivery sells the stories. She also did not pay me to say this, though I wouldn't mind a kickback. Under the table, you know, for tax purposes.
