Yeah it's not that bad, it's just got that mid-2000s digital look where everything looks darker. Again, though, it's just a trailer and I'd be foolish to judge it based on that.

It seems appropriate for the subject matter though, don't you think?

I really want this to be good, because I loved Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation but hated Marie Antoinette (well, disliked) and Somewhere. Come on, Sofia!

Oddly enough, no. Bowie, for all his genius, never made an album that doesn't have  a "skip" track for me.

Is there a reason for Disney's weird schedule shuffling? Do reruns get as high ratings over there or something?

I love Sue Perkins! I wish they'd have her on more often.

I've heard that Dylan has lost his consistency in recent live years. This isn't too too surprising, I doubt he's taken care of his voice very well.

There's one episode (I believe the one with Emma Thompson) where Sessions is hilarious. But man oh man he is so dry the rest of the time.

The Philadelphia Story and Clue are both excellent choices. I find Brideshead Revisited loses a bit of steam near the end, but Waugh writes so lushly that it really doesn't matter.

Oh shoot, I forgot about that episode when I said Mad Men Season 5. Letttt's pretend it didn't happen.

Aw, I'm disappointed to hear the Nerdist with Rich Moore isn't very good. He was always hilarious on Futurama commentaries.

Oooh, good call on Stop Making Sense. It's pretty much a perfect film, and it's certainly the gold standard of concert films.

I had a voice teacher who raised an interesting point when it comes to "technically weak" singers like Bob Dylan or Neil Young - they may not have pipes of steel, but they're consistent. What differentiates a Dylan from a pitchy wannabe in the reject pile of American Idol is Dylan crafts a sound that influences how he

Duke Ellington (hey, that's my username!)'s Such Sweet Thunder and his second Sacred Concert are unimpeachable favorites of mine, as is Kenny Wheeler's Music for Large and Small Ensembles. For other musical choices, there's John Adams' score for Nixon in China (the instrumental sections, not the so-so vocal writing)

Moliere…set on a spaceship…with SPACE NAZIS!

Emma Thompson is fucking perfect in that movie. Same with Michael Keaton.

I have no idea why this works so well. Maybe it's because of the timeless qualities of the plays?

That movie has an absolutely atrocious script, but the performances elevate it. And it's got a pretty nice visual sense, too.

My old roommate did a fantastic Robert Evans impression - he described the voice as "Christian Bale's Batman with a terrible head cold"

I've been producing this singer-songwriter for a while now, since probably February of 2012. She's a great singer, and a very strong writer, but if I'm not there constantly holding her hand the whole project just goes to pieces. And now we're pretty deep into this album and she keeps dropping off the face of the
