Thanks. Any particular "terms" for which one might "search"? (My obfuscation skills are for shit)

I dug up the O'Neil "Question" run awhile ago. Pure nostalgia rush, but MAN, does the writing not hold up. Denny (along with so many other writers of "adult" superhero comics at the time) wrote like the world's smartest 12-year-old. You know, "this is how he thinks adults talk during sex?", that kind of thing…

Can you give…vague hints as to where & how you *happened* to come across said collection? Bit t0rr3n+ hasn't worked very well in that regard — I don't want EVERYTHING but I'd kill to get a couple years' worth from the 80s, you know, to bask in shameless nostalgia and ignore the specter of death for a few hours…

Agreed. Arkham Asylum reeks of late-80s "ultra-serious, highbrow Batman story", and it has dated really, really badly.

Same here — I had quit superhero comics around '92 so I tried Halloween based on hearsay, and it's just crap. Inferior talents extending the "Year One" universe for, well, a year.

Okay, anybody really want to get into this? (I do, so bail now if you don't)

Not terribly important, but I seem to recall that when this episode first aired, there was some evidence (subtitles, lip-reading, both?) that Tony's "Cinderella Man" comment was "It still sucks?", and it was looped. Anyone remember this?

As ZMF would (and maybe still will) say:

In fact, I think someone recently published "Pale Fire" the poem as a separate piece. Stunning achievement on its own, and the fact that it's just a part of the mind-boggling whole is *BZZZ* tilt

Agreed. Tried it several times and was never intrigued. Plus certain major characters (the mother for sure) seemed just about shitty-TV-movie caliber.
and when she leaves you you'll never be able to watch it again without crying
