Thank you so much for these reviews over the past two summers, Donna.  I have a special place in my heart for this show, and it was thrilling to do another run through the show with someone who clearly feels the same.  With all the shit Sorkin has been getting lately for The Newsroom (which may be deserved, may not

I'm surprised that people are able to just wander into a taping on the regular.  It took me months to get tickets to a Colbert taping.  Every time they announced that tickets had become available for a week of shows on Facebook, they were gone within the hour.  I was finally able to get them for this past Valentine's

Just wanted to add to what I'm sure will be said many times:  I am so happy these are back! These reviews and their comment sections are my favorite things on AVC.  And John Teti  certainly did not lose anything over the year absence.  Looking forward to season three!

Their reaction to Justin Vernon's singing on the New Moon riff is worth suffering through that movie (and I say that as someone who likes Bon Iver).

I've often wondered about the nature of that accent, especially when it gets busted out with much more frequency later in the series.  I suppose it makes sense that it's purposely awful, since within the show it is not an "Australian" accent, but an alien one.  But I find it terribly distracting every time it

Just wanted to add to the clamor of praise for you, Nathan, and this column (I will also dearly miss Commentary Tracks of the Damned, among other things).  I may have come to this site for the TV, but I learned the most and laughed the most through the articles on film.  Let us know on Twitter what you guys will be up

So I started this series a month or two ago after a long, long wait to watch it from the beginning. I just finished season three and I'm a little… disappointed.  I'm not as into it as I thought I would be, given that it's regularly lumped into a category of great dramas that contains all these other fantastic shows

I am also surprised, the show and its reviews are excellent.  But I avoid the comment section like the plague because of the heavy amount of spolier discussions that are often not labeled as such (I'm only in season three).  After waiting to watch this show for years, I've somehow managed to make it this long as a

Was just thinking the same thing!  I've been meaning to watch it for years after hearing nothing but great things, but never got around to it.  Seeing the whole series go up on Hulu a few weeks ago finally made me cave on their subscription fee.  I just finished season one, though; had no idea TV Club was going to be

I pretty much blame the fact that as a crazy hormonal teenager The X-Files was the only show I was super into for making me the rabid shipper I am today.  I just can't get into any show unless there is some will they/won't they angle, and the fact that I am aware that this is unhealthy/disturbing is the worst part.

I am in total agreement on the lukewarm feelings toward "all things."  I found it all deeply profound when I was 16, but it's just a mess on re-watch. And the daughter is so incredibly shrill that I find myself wincing every time she appears on screen.

"Daemonicus" is legitimately great, and I think would be a stand-out in even the earlier, much better seasons of the show.  Other than that, YIKES is it bad.

I worked through that whole review wondering when TVDW was going to talk about Mulder gets hospitalized with tobacco beetles, only to discover I totally have the wrong episode (thinking of "Brand X" later in the season).  Also have no memory whatsoever of this one, even after reading the review.

I always had a soft spot for "Chimera," even though by all standards it is a pretty generic MOTW.  I think I just love any episode that places Mulder in a domestic situation (although I'm hard pressed to think of another example from the series besides "Arcadia").  His genuine discomfort and bafflement is so

Doesn't Duchovny get a writers credit for Amor Fati?  I can't imagine him sidelining himself in an episode.  Plus (spoiler?) there's that whole dream sequence with Mulder and Fowley living in the suburbs, which granted is ridiculous, but it leads to a pretty excellent speech from Scully.

It almost felt like they thought they WERE pushing the boundaries of the mythology starting with this Biogenesis/Sixth Extinction arc.  That last scene with the alien spaceship on the beach was played so big and dramatic — I can still picture that final moment so clearly even though I haven't seen the episode in five

Count me in as also being excited to see the season seven reviews coming up so quickly.  I love, love, LOVE The Sixth Extinction arc, and generally think that the season is unfairly maligned.  We'll see if that opinion hold up on the re-watch, but looking forward to your thoughts!
