So do we think this is the last A-grade an episode is ever going to get?  I am getting nervous about next season already (well, as nervous as a person can get for web reviews of a ten year old show, I suppose).  I loved seasons 7 and 8 growing up (especially the Sixth Extinction two-parter), but it's been quite some

You're not.  I could never for the life of me see the appeal of this episode, and I actually like some of Duchovny's other writing on the show.  This one just doesn't do it for me.

@avclub-aff2f2fc36ca7a0ad068477106e12ba3:disqus You reminded me that "John Doe" and "Hellbound" exist, which are not completely awful, but "Daemonicus" is truly the lone bright spot of season nine for me.

I kept experiencing this intense feeling of dread every time I thought about watching Two Fathers/One Son, so I fell behind in my re-watch and avoided the reviews.  My Saturdays weren't the same without them, though.

I watched this show before getting into Dexter (a decision I regret with each passing season), so Michael C. Hall was always David.  But in those rare outbursts that David has, it feels like I have to do a double take.  The characters are so different, both in how they show emotion and how they don't (which says a

Simon's "climb the mountain of conflict" speech gets me every fucking time.  This film is absolutely brilliant.

The way Keith treats David these first couple of seasons makes the fact that SPOILERS I GUESS they end up together forever seem crazy (maybe Keith gets better? I haven't re-watched past S3 yet, and he's still kind of a shit).  But from this perspective, it makes perfect sense.  David just keeps recycling this

I found Lisa to be absolutely intolerable in the initial run (clearly not an unpopular opinion).  But on this re-watch, I've found her to be much more sympathetic.  I think it's the way Lili Taylor plays it; it's really subtle, but there is just this undercurrent of gut-wrenching sadness in everything she does,

Agreed - I remember groaning a bit whenever his name popped up on the credits. But it's funny because looking at his Wikipedia, he didn't even write that many solo scripts to really warrant such a reaction. And I actually sort of love "Elegy".  Maybe "Teso Dos Bichos" and "El Mundo Gira" is just too much suck to
