It has been so long since I went to the theater; I think I knew months ago that this was going to be the only movie worth seeing right when it comes out. The Reznor/Ross score for The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo were incredible, so I have high expectations for this one!

I thought the book was great. And I was beyond thrilled when I heard that Fincher was directing, mostly because of Zodiac, to which I think this material has some definite similarities (clearly Ben agrees).

They have talked about doing a live-chat of IWTB in past reviews. That could be awesome, especially since it seems like the comments have been picking up compared to the earlier seasons. (Which is… odd. Maybe it's more fun to complain about the awful episodes. That would make an IWTB live-chat a real shitshow.)

"Bring me The Duchovny!" needs to be a thing that we say about seasons eight and nine.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a way to articulate why I feel Sunshine Days would have been an awful way to end the series, but I do feel that way, almost viscerally, so I am going to try. No doubt, it was a great capper to the one-shot, MOTW episodes that this show did so well. And I really liked the way Todd

CONSPIRACY!

I think that's an interesting question! I go back and forth on whether or not I think those rumors are true. They get along so well and have such incredible chemistry in interviews that it seems impossible that they are just friends. I guess I always sort of thought they had an unconventional relationship,

I had some long comment posted in reply that somehow disappeared, but basically… it is totally plausible (I'd even go as far as to say likely) that Mulder would try to hide his true identity from Scully, since he has a pretty well-documented history of lying to her if he thinks it is for her own benefit. However, it

I do enjoy that aspect of it, truly - but every time I rewatch it, the actual case they're working on ruins it more and more for me. And not just because I'm bitter CC decided to make it a MOTW (mostly).

Awesome, thanks! I saw your comment below, also, and it made me even more interested. I always wanted to see how the colonization plot would have moved forward, and was hoping that was what they were going to do in the second movie (instead we got… prophetic priests? Snow? Who the hell knows).

Yea, and it's not even the first time some stranger was able to get in his room! Scully certainly would have learned her lesson by now, I would think.

Ah, good to know, thanks! I'm not opposed to previously-dead characters coming back or anything, but it can stretch the suspension of disbelief. What do you think of the comics, worth a read?

I can't believe these reviews are almost over! I feel like the majority of people who comment on these reviews have been here since the beginning, and obviously this has been a years-long project for you and Todd. It's going to be very odd not to come to this space on Saturdays to revisit was it no-question my

I think we can all have a good conversation next season about what exactly doesn't work about the character of Reyes. Because it's not Annabeth Gish's performance (has anyone watched The Bridge? She is phenomenal). And as some of these reviews have started to touch on, her beliefs are unique and interesting enough

I think I speak for all of us in these comments when I say I'm thrilled these are coming back to finish out the series (and so soon!). It was wholly unexpected given the reputation of season nine, and a very pleasant surprise.

Wow, that is really unfortunate! What a huge spoiler. I remember being shocked as hell when they killed off Krycek, and really would have been pissed if one of those annoying DVD intros spoiled it for me.

Get some Tums; I'm reasonably sure this only gets worse in the S8 two-part finale (and definitely sure it does in S9's "Trustno1").

Yes, and Benjamin Linus! S9 actually had some crazy good guest stars (like Aaron Paul, Cary Elwes, Lucy Lawless).

I was kind of surprised by all this love for "Sunshine Days" in previous comment threads, because it was pretty reviled back in the day. In retrospect, 90% of that hatred was probably because "Days" was the final episode of the series before the two-part finale, and they still had a ton of shit to get done. They

All I remember of the Doggett's son storyline after this is that he gets his very own "Closure" episode towards the end of S9, but I don't think it really became what they wanted it to become (in that it didn't really set the foundation for Doggett the way Samantha's disappearance did for Mulder).
