Personally, I’d rather he leave then keep his name on a project he doesn’t believe in. I get why people here are saying he’s difficult or an asshole for it, but rather than have himself or everyone else miserable, isn’t he doing the more mature thing by just leaving? Compromise isn’t always the solution.

I loved it too, and Part 2 has grown on me over time. I like that they’re longer pop songs. I don’t really understand length as a criticism. I was also under the impression it was pretty well received when it came out, but I guess people’s tastes have changed? Or maybe they have just reevaluated. Regardless, I still

I thought the 20/20 Experience was great. Even the bonus songs on the deluxe version were great.

That is a vague statement with no facts to back up. Also, again, you seem to think that because a comparison is being made that that must mean that both parts of the comparison are equivalent. That is not what a comparison is. A comparison just suggests that there are similarities. It does not state the amount of

It’s pretty easy to figure out what it means. “PC culture” suggests things that you are not allowed to talk about for fear of offending someone. There is an idea prevalent in our society that PC culture stems from the left, and the comparison that I was drawing was that people on the right also have things that they

First of all, I never said “as much”. I never made a comparison as to the size of oppression because any comparison as to size is to suggest some kind of persecution contest, and I’m not interested in that. Second of all, the idea that people aren’t being persecuted for their religion and/or culture as much as for

It’s a silly point because bigotry is part of human nature, not something inherent to religion, hence all of the other examples I gave you. People will kill and persecute each other for a million different reasons. It’s easy to latch onto religion, but it is not the prime mover of bigotry.

Yes, religious people are the only ones to have committed crimes of bigotry. All white supremacists are religious. The Nazis were religious, and Stalinist Communists were religious, etc.

In case you can’t tell, I’m being sarcastic because you’re making silly points by overgeneralizing. Which is something you seem to

I never suggested that. You’re the one making a comparison and saying something is easier than something else.

I’m sure the fact that you think it’s easier to discard your religion makes all of the people whose family members have been killed over their religion feel much better. Way to use that empathy.

It’s not a contest. People can be shitty in many ways.

Sure, that’s one way to frame it. But I feel like you’re simplifying to purposefully miss the point. A) People don’t choose their religion or culture in a way that people choose what to buy at a grocery store. Some people don’t chose those things at all but are born into it. B) That choice is one that can be one that

On a separate note, PC culture exists on both the left and the right, just with different issues. The issue on the left is largely identity, whether it be race, gender, sexual orientation, etc., and on the right it’s more about tradition, whether it be cultural or religious. This is where your geography or media

I’m curious why this seems like such an American issue, on both sides of this whatever-you-want-to-call-it. British comedians say incredibly more “un-pc” things, and no one seems to give a shit, or be offended, or what have you. Or if they are, I don’t seem to hear about it.

I don’t understand why we judge everything on a per moment basis. A lot of men won this year, a lot of women won last year. I’m sure there is a bias since last year seems more evenly split and this year it isn’t, but rather than just looking at one year, I’d like to see stats for the past decade, or the last 15 years

There’s nothing wrong with it. I tend to think planned out stories are better than not planned out stories. All of the examples you gave are ones that I think have serious flaws, partly because they aren’t planned out. But that’s just my opinion. I wasn’t making an objective point about it.

*shrug* Who knows. I got the impression Abrams cared, but I could be wrong. In terms of storytelling, Abrams loves mysteries and foreshadowing and the like way more than Rian Johnson does. It is in kind for Johnson to answer questions definitively, but not for Abrams to do so.

No, I’m not mad. I don’t care either way. Luke is gone, that’s fine. But Abrams clearly cared about Rey’s birth, and I can imagine him saying that Kylo lied or Kylo didn’t know the truth or some other bullshit and undoing what Rian did.

Not particularly related, but since you used the phrase “you mad” I’m going to

On the one hand, it’s somewhat of a positive that the directors have some free rein with the story. That means anything I didn’t like I can blame Rian Johnson for. On the other hand, it’s disappointing this trilogy isn’t planned particularly well. Since Abrams is coming back for the next one, then I might as well
