She's definitely a pro, but she's always just rubbed me the wrong way on a personal level.

As I said above, I don't like Fallon as a performer because he's unoriginal. I don't ever watch anything he's in and say, "Wow, that was interesting." It's all engineered on his wish fulfillment and his aping of other, more original performers. His Tonight Show is meticulously crafted to be consumed in fizzy, viral

Here's the thing about Fallon - he is absolutely incapable of creating his own humor. He thrives on repurposing other people's - like the Good Burger sketch above; lip sync battles; celebrity impressions; recreating game shows like Family Feud; etc. I've never seen Fallon do a single original piece of comedy… he sets

I actually first started watching The Middle because A.V. Club bundled the reviews together, so I owe the A.V. Club a debt. For as much as I really don't like Patricia Heaton (and haven't since she was the designated harpy on Everybody Loves Raymond), Eden Sher is my favorite supporting actress in sitcoms.

A miniseries? So, in terms of story, they're hoping that people will resonate with Noah's Arc?

The difference between Colbert and Stewart is that Stewart's outrage leads him to get worked up, and while that makes for viral exposure it also cedes the control of the dialogue to the person at whom he's outraged.

Yep. And I loved - LOVED - the way that Colbert immediately shut down the people who started to hiss and boo at Cruz when the senator rolled out the "five unelected lawyers" talking point. It showed a lot of class and, what's more, audience control.

I think Trump knew that, too. The only political guests so far to engage Colbert on anything approaching his own level were Biden and the Supreme Court justice. Everyone else has basically stuck to talking points because they know that if they actually go off-script, Colbert is smart enough to dismantle them

Please tell me Ben Wyatt is behind this.

Cyber Dust: the only inhaled controlled substance you need to do sexting on the Internet!

I don't remember where I read it, but he's already said in a recent interview that he could do better than Trump.

Breashears specifically stated in one of his books that he was the guy doing the free climb at the very start of the film - obviously in the long shots. The rest of the stunts were probably done by Gullich and Kauk, while Breashears coordinated the climbing bits.

I read many books about climbing Everest before I ever actually saw the Khumbu Icefall on film. When I saw the actual footage from climbers crossing those crevasses on the ladders…

Trivia: The stand-in (or I should say the "climb-in") for Sylvester Stallone during the opening of Cliffhanger was David Breashears.

The mountaineer cliche that applies to this situation is, "It is optional to get to the top, but mandatory to get down."

They, in fact, have been paid to do exactly that for decades now.

What I love about this interview is that he started with short or canned answers, and then as it went along he opened up more and more and started enjoying himself. Well done.

Fallon is like Drew Carey was on "Whose Line is it Anyway?" - so desperate to prove that he, too, is part of the club.

Being in the thrall of a Satanic jewel in order to sell hummus wasn't weird enough for you?
