Except if you are outside the US. Fuck em and good riddance. Although, didn't they get done by Apple? That is sucky behavior.

On the bright side, if P&R is canceled I can go back to entirely ignoring TV again.
I say Yay, but I am a devoted fan. It probably wouldn't win over anyone who didn't already dig the sound.
That is unwarranted bitchery. The songs on Sound of Silver and what I've heard of the new one are for real.
Dettmann
Boom! Marcel Dettmann's album is blowing up my headphones!
Yeh, I really love that Virgo reissue, too. Got it a couple weeks ago (thanks eMusic!) and have been enjoying it mightily.
Ack, that is depressing. You have been kidnapped Sly; we want you back!
Woulda also said Gil Scott-Heron…but we might be getting our wish, we'll see.
Sly Stone
1. @Matos: Sorry for my weak ass memory.
2. @SG: I agree, the Scuba vs. SCB is a good listen. Good tip.
3. Just got to hear the Deadbeat mix—very impressed!
Awesome
What a great list—Thanks! Tons of things to dig into.
Scuba (and SCB) seems to really be on a roll lately. The album is one of my favorites so far this year. Didyou mentioned Martyn's fabric mix already? Covers similar territory to the SUB:STANCE mix, but I'm connecting with it better. I like Scuba's mix, but…
I can't wait for some sunny weather to enjoy these jams. Sounds hot based on a first listen.
A better grade that Drum's Not Dead?
No way man. I love Liars, but this one is a bit below the last two IMO. Can't quite figure out what is off, though. Maybe the lyrics are weak in some parts?
I'm into dance music, but without the "I". Too fussy for me. And though I like Flying Lotus, I agree that most of the "post-Dilla…abstract hip hop" is pretty boring.
Warp's got Flying Lotus as well; doesn't get better than that! I've never been a big follower of the label, but they always have a few top shelf acts going. Couldn't really get into the Bibio, but maybe I should give it another listen.
Petre Inspirescu
That is a solid mix, even if it is just a slice form a longer club set. Anyone know what else is going on in Romania? Any other solid names/releases/mixes to check out?
That Shake mix burns it up, too!
Must check out the Bob Blank reissue.
Thanks again for the great column!
That was some good stuff. I remember buying those issues from the comics spinrack at the White Hen near my house.
I had ready access to this edition at a store I worked at years ago and never bought it. I regret that very much. Those RE/Search books were terrific, just the thing to help warp my teenage brain.
I would recommend War Fever; it is a really amazing short story collection. If that hooks you, then you've got lots to look forward to. I think Cocaine Nights was the first JGB I read. It's a good introduction to the less extreme and more contemporary concerns that he focused on in the last 2 decades of his life. So,…
That clip really shows off the qualities that make me love that program.
