SECRETARIAT!
Interactive TV, Jack! Wave of the future, huh huh huh!
They are certainly well within their rights to post the video, but it's more about sensationalism and click-gathering then reporting. Of course, Gawker is far, far from being the only entity that survives in this way, but that doesn't make their sensationalism ("The Video of Tracy Morgan that Louis C.K. Doesn't Want…
The classy folks at Gawker ran this story as well. It was rather amazing in its wrongness. Not only did they criticize Louis C.K., acting as if his simple request to take the video down was in some way threatening TMZ's heroic dedication to the truth, but they included the video in the article. Not a link, but the…
I'll sign. I'll even say that the homophobia in that film was a little easier to take, when you factor in the fact that he was only 22 and it was the early 80's. You can't expect him to have a particularly wise perspective on everything at that stage. (And, as puerile as it is, I still crack up at the Ralph…
Extras was "atrocious" and an "eighth-rate Larry Sanders?" As annoying as Gervais can be, Scharpling definitely lost me there.
I was also puzzled by the sort-of gay jokes that come later, but yeah, the first half of this special is great. The way Norm introduces "Janice's friends" in the fake news report in that clip ("Janice's third friend, who is different from the first two people") slays me for some reason.
WASPs say that about everything.
"W. E. B. Du Bois was a great guy. Hopefully he would have been a belieber. #YOLO #420LOL"
Professors and teachers HATE @ChancellorPuddinghead:disqus
Ashamed to say it, but a little turned on by the Arsenio Hall/Andrew Dice Clay re-enactment
I laughed when the ominous music got rolling right after the "He's an evolutionist" line.
Most shocking thing about that trailer? They let Anderson's atheist professor have the final word (i.e. how can The Bible be the word of God when it was written by men). I thought it would end with him writhing in flames.
In fairness, many of the Stalin supporters were unaware of the scope of his crimes until after his death.
Get…real…beard.
They stole Tommy Kirk's Oscar!
"disease spreading whore…" That's what John Doe called one of his victims in Seven. Someone should ask him for his thoughts on obese men and drug dealing pederasts.
"Consorts?" So this guy has a posse now?
(Tried to post this a week ago, but, you know, Disqus)
Avery did much to elevate the tone of Fresh Prince. There were of course many "very special" episodes of varying quality, but Avery always hit his part with gravitas. RIP.
