@avclub-7656b560c7e180f8e0d84ca82ac0d8b7:disqus Ok, THANK YOU. I just watched "Face Off" last night, and I stayed up way too late trying to sort out my thoughts about it. On the one hand, I had to acknowledge it as a masterful piece of television, but on the other hand, I felt a bit cheated by the ending. I mean FUCK

This is hard because I've only watched each episode once, but I want to give it a shot.

I have to agree. I approached BB with a ton of skepticism and was instantly sold by the first three episodes. I think the show wisely moved beyond its original premise and became a better and better show as it went along, but he pilot just does an excellent job of establishing the characters and setting up Walt's many

I have whiplash from all the times Walt has had some kind of epiphany only to become an even more malignant asshole.

I shotgunned Season 4 in four days to prepare for the S5 opener, and it nearly killed me. I'm not sure what trying to watch the entire series in a compressed amount of time would do to a person, but there should probably be a double-blind study in a controlled environment before anyone attempts it on their own.

It seems more interesting as a fun exercise for seasoned viewers in figuring out which episodes were most essential than an advisable way to watch television. I'd rather catch up with a show in its entirety even if it means picking up the current season midway through. In fact, I didn't watch Breaking Bad S4 as it

As much as I loved the narcocorrido and the "people crawling toward the shrine" cold opens, I was glad they backed off from the flashy stuff a bit in S4. But even the cold opens that felt pretty conventional wound up being more chilling in hindsight, such as Gale unpacking those crates with Chekhov's box cutter.

Yeah, "Full Measure" should definitely be up there.

I loved Season 2 but felt pretty manipulated by the "EVERYTHING CONVERGES" ending. If the season had ended on Walt watching Jane drown in her own vomit, I'd have been ok with that. The Breaking Bad team clearly has airtight control over the plotting, but occasionally it feels like a stranglehold, with everything
