I'm right there with you. I skipped that episode (and Avatar Day, The Swamp…ok most of the first half of Book 2) a couple of times on rewatch but gradually came to appreciate it. It's pretty slight story/theme/character-wise, but it's pretty funny and the whole Omashu story is gorgeously done.

Given some of the insane theories that sprouted up around Amon, energybending, spirits, and eventually bloodbending, it's funny to me that THIS is the explanation people just won't accept on a plausibility basis.

I agree that that's the case initially, but it gets more complicated. As in "A Voice in the Night," she tries to force a confrontation by ambushing him at the Air
