Agreed. It's a bummer. But the problem is that it's hard to separate the events of each show. Prior knowledge of the original isn't essential to understanding the sequel, but it does inform the way you watch it.

Just got to the wall-climbing scene in SoS, and I absolutely love her.

The power tripper died. There was a weird look between Dany and the sex teacher in the last episode. I'm not sure what's going on there.

I am liking your comment for its historical erudition.

And he really, really does take his vows to the Night Watch seriously, which include a vow of celibacy.

Not to mention the horrifying rat bucket torture scenes from two episodes ago.

Fucking Theon.

Yeah, I loved the implication that it wasn't that he couldn't get the job done, it's just that he has, like A SYSTEM, man, and she's fucking with it.

Tywin is amazing in this show, even better than in the books, in my opinion. And keep in mind, he's technically Hand of the King (Tyrion's acting in his stead since he's fighting a war), and the Hand is the one who pretty much runs the show.

And he successfully gets across the fact that Theon is always two steps behind just about everyone else in the room. Even Bran is like, "Really Theon? We're gonna do this? Okaaaaaay."

Whatever it cost them in terms of cash and extremities lost to frostbite in order to film on that glacier was worth it. Not only is every frame stunningly, brutally gorgeous, but they are making great use of the terrain in the character blocking. The little chase scene between Jon and Ygritte, which wasn't narratively

Littlefinger is fast becoming the Magical Exposition Fairy of this show, flitting about, dropping in wherever he needs to be to remind us of who's allied with who and why that matters. I can't help but feel like that's shortchanging the character a bit, though Aidan Gillen consistently exposits with an appreciable

Of all the things to be mad about. I thought that scene was great as played.

Perhaps, but the real bomb in that plotline has yet to be dropped and hasn't really been telegraphed as far as I can tell, and I suspect the internets are going to explode when it does.

I thought for a second that they were going to give Lollys's role to Sansa during that scene, which would have been horrifying (and politically disastrous in the logic of the narrative).

I was surprised they chose to off Rodrik here rather than when Ramsay arrives at Winterfell, but it makes sense, as it needs to be a character the audience is familiar with in order to give it weight and dramatize Theon's predicament. The beheading was gross enough that I had to look away, but it's a great example of

That guy falling down dead in the doorway had me cracking up.

Something to keep in mind: Tokka and Linzen can't exist at the same time, because if Tokka is a thing, they'd be cousins.

But you have spent 62 episodes with Katara. I'm not saying you might not have a point, but we just don't know right now. It seems like you are expecting a lot from 5 episodes of a show.

I ship Tahno with his hair/makeup artist!
