I'm in an exurban bordering on rural area outside of a medium-sized city, but we live in this weird dead zone where the only options are the local Cox affiliate and Dish Network. Literally the next development south of us gets Time Warner, which isn't awesome but better (and cheaper) than what we have now.

As far as I can tell, it has to do with the myriad opportunities to make "ship" puns.

Jinora's romantic fantasies are shockingly violent. I love her so much.

And for the record, I was up at 7:00 am because that's when I usually wake up.

It's a super-small Cox affiliate, so they don't even have HBO Go access or robust On Demand offerings. If Time Warner ever moves out here to the sticks, I'll jump on it.

I HAD cable, but the company that has the monopoly in our area is such a festering pile of shit, that I couldn't keep sending them $120/month. I've been considering Dish, but that's out since they're getting rid of AMC!

I don't have cable.

Haven't seen the ep, so I haven't read the review, but I'm pleased to see that Emily likes it, as I'm going into it fully prepared to die of vicarious embarrassment on behalf of…well…everyone (I'm spoiled as shit for this thing…so many clips this week…so little self control).

That's a good question, elena. I can't link it because Disquis + iPad = fail, but I saw a link to tvbythenumbers yesterday, and LoK was the top scripted program on cable last week in terms of total viewers, but it's rating among adults 18-49 places it in like the top 8 or something. So younger viewers are clearly

Yeah. That's consistent with Korra steamrolling all over Mako and Bolin's family stuff. I like how Asami shares this tender little moment with Mako over that scarf, and Korra weaponizes it in completely badass fashion. Mako is currently Korra's most direct foil, but I wonder if Asami is being set up that way as

@avclub-aa3f9a1b51634e8f4c8eb2cbaffaf3c3:disqus That seems like a distinct possibility. On rewatch, I noticed that her bed isn't even turned down once she wakes up, like she just sort of collapsed. Pretty sad when you think about it.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus Remember how Aang just knew who Avatar Roku was when he saw his statue for the first time at the Southern Air Temple? I'm thinking this is something similar.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus Right there with you on Buffy/Xander, particularly because any relationship that might have developed between them (especially in the early seasons) would have felt like him wearing her down. I always appreciated the fact that his crush on her was open and acknowledged, and even though it was

But that's also why it's a little silly to complain about not being as invested in these characters after four episodes (not that you're doing that here, but some are). Four episodes into TLA, we were on Kyoshi Island, and Sokka was a one-note comic relief character, Zuko was an insufferable little shit, and Aang was

@The_Tuna:disqus There was a very, very short preview clip that I can't find right now of the four of them getting ready to head out on Naga and taking a pretty hilarious pratfall in the process (because even Naga can't carry four more or less fully grown adults at the same time), so I think you are completely correct

Given what we've seen in the trailers, it looks like we are going to get Korra and Bolin bonding over the next couple of episodes and Korra and Mako trying to kill each other (I kinda hope she gets to deck him before all of this shakes out). I'm guessing that they're going to come out the other side of all of that as

What's awesome is that he didn't even bother to remove some telltale formatting quirks that made it obvious he had cut and pasted it from somewhere. This is the laziest fucking plagiarist I've ever seen.

20-something straight white female here. I do in fact fight crime.

In all honesty, I would too, but I am not this show's target audience.

That's good to know. Many characters who didn't make an impression on me in Book 2 (Brienne, Davos, Margaery) are already becoming more interesting.
