While I agree basically and certainly watch a reasonably large number of non-English films, I will say that I understand the comment because I do think that reading subtitles requires a little extra work. It's not worth jettisoning all foreign cinema of course, but there are times where I don't feel like I have the

So Vin is doing the movie?

It's on a big boxset of '80s hits I got out of my library. I also got Rhino's "Left of the Dial: '80s Underground" boxset out at the same time, and combined my favorites from each into a three-disc mix. "Ah Leah!" sounds great coming after the opener, the Raincoats' "Fairytale in the Supermarket".

Hey, I enjoyed that one. It was kind of a screwball action movie.

Can't Hardly Wait: First Day of School

What is the "commodification" and the "corporate branding" you're talking about?

It's like ten thousand saints, when all you need is a sinner.

You should, it's excellent. It does start off a bit slow.

As someone who had seen none of the MCU movies when I saw Guardians (I've since caught up on some), I didn't understand what Thanos's deal was but it didn't seem particularly important. The "infinity crystals" or stones or whatever they were basically acted as McGuffins to me.

If that's your feeling, I'm surprised you don't like 5000 Spirits more, since most of the songs have reasonable lengths and the decision-making is pretty restrained (for them). Painting Box, Chinese White, You Know What You Could Be - most of that album's great.

Scoop is great - probably in my Woody Allen top 3 - but Magic In The Moonlight was pretty dull. That said, I'd rather see a comedy from him at this point than a serious drama (I thought Match Point and Blue Jasmine were both pretty overrated).

I like the Resident Evil movies, but yeah, I thought Retribution might have been the weakest of the bunch, partly because I didn't care at all about the characters that were brought back from earlier films or were tie-ins from the video games.

This is one of the weirder five minutes of anything I've watched recently.

Yeah, I definitely had a big Prefab Sprout vibe from that one.

"All good things must come to an end, the bad ones just go on forever."

It's a good thing he watched it a second time, just to make sure the humor wasn't really really subtle.

The quote above says "the right girl, the right circumstances" - which probably goes for just about anything.

This sounds great, but for whatever reason, it's also making me want a Wild Things-style movie where Mercutio and Rosalind manage to kill everybody and get away with it as well as a sizable chunk of the Montague/Capulet fortunes.

Since nobody seems to have actually watched the video, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's a good piece of analysis, especially of the chord inversions (which is something that's easy to not focus on in pop music).

"Talk About Horses" is a jam.
