Games really do feel cinematic now. I was trying to think where this change occurred. For me, I guess this would be around the Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2 area. Metal Gear Solid is probably the most cinematic of that group with solid voice acting and a JJ Abrams-esque convoluted story.
