Same. The performance is amazing…I can't get over the confused, scared way she looks when she realizes what has happened. Ugh. So sad that this is still happening to girls, and without sanitary equipment or anesthesia too.

I know some people feel sorry for Serena, but not I. I think she's just awful. I don't think anything in her past can excuse what she's participating it, particularly the violence towards Offred when she learns there is no pregnancy.
It took me a couple episodes to figure out Offred = Of Fred, Ofglen = Of Glen because the pronunciation was more like Uffklen. Interesting way of naming the handmaids.
I was confused about why the coffee guy called them sluts. Was it because of the way they were dressed (workout/running clothes) or something else? I noticed during the scene of them running a woman glaring disapprovingly at them.
I had a hard time sleeping after watching this episode. Couldn't stop thinking about how cruel that ending was.
I hated the song choice. I felt the same away about the punk rock song played at the end of the Game of Thrones episode where a central character had his hand chopped off (trying to be vague in case you don't watch the show).
That ending was so awful I teared up watching it. I wasn't sure what to expect, I went from thinking they sewed her up to realizing they mutilated her. The close up on Alexis Bledel's face as you could see the various emotions passing over her - pain, helplessness, despair, rage. I hope this isn't the last we see…
Same. Subscribed the other night specifically for this show. I wasn't much interested in Alias Grace but knowing that it's from Atwood has me interested. I was too chicken to read The Handmaid's Tale but may go back and read it after the show. I find the material extremely difficult to watch but can't stop…
Yes, part of me wants to see what happens next but I was so disturbed at the end of the first too episodes that I needed to just do something else. I couldn't stop thinking about it before going to bed.
That scene bothered me, too.
This show is really difficult to watch. I find myself so frustrated with the women like Serena who are allowing their fellow women, who I assume not too long ago they were living, working, and otherwise interacting with on a regular basis, to be enslaved, routinely raped, and degraded. It's not just a story of women…
No matter how awful or stupid she is she will not get killed off because she's the star of the show. I would not miss her if she were dead.
Because he heard the word "billionaire".
I was nervous that they were going to follow her into the elevator and harm her..
I'm hoping for an update on Hawley's Cat's Cradle tv series.
I've only seen the first episode so far and…loved it. I found myself tearing up several times at what Anne goes through. Absolutely love her friendship/affection for the Mr. Gilbert and while Ms. Gilbert is incredibly stern, I the actress does a great job portraying her softening as she gets to know Anne.
Yes, but I think the cable shows take it to the next level by actually showing the vomit like, I don't know, proof that they're "gritty". Ick.
Really hot. I never noticed it before. Sad he died in the episode.
Puking scenes make my stomach turn.
Yeah, that was pretty jarring. Actually, as much as I liked the implied attraction to the new character, I was really bothered by Alex's sudden hatred towards aliens (other than Kara, Clark, and J'onn). I never got that vibe from her before this episode.
