So this is basically just a twist on Dollhouse, right? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Maybe he'll appreciate it in many ways but be a little troubled by some scenes?
I don't think this is about valid or invalid, but about a subjective emotional reaction to seeing particular images or events depicted? And also this show depicts a world quite like our own, so what parts of our world it's depicting (i.e. the makeup of its cast) doesn't change how one contextualizes the events it…
Yeah, your first point is what I've been thinking along the lines of - with the addition that the already pretty good folks like Chidi and Tahani are nevertheless bettered by the act of helping another become their best self.
I've been working through the idea that it might be an error in principle on Michael's part. Presuming that Michael tried to make an afterlife only for the best of the best, but also a place where everyone is paired up with their soulmate who most fully completes them, maybe the moral arithmetic adds up to genuinely…
I think it's worth noting that had Amanda Knox been wrongfully convicted in the United States on these same facts, it's all too likely that she would still be in prison, and might never have been released. It's really difficult to overturn a conviction without definitive DNA evidence in the USA, and in any event takes…
Totes a witch. Case closed.
I hate to break it to you, but even a truly inappropriate sense of humour (if that's what this is, and I'm hardly convinced) isn't the same as literally murdering a person. Like you can't convict someone of murder for being an asshole. You have to actually prove that they did it. Everything else is just a distraction.
And it can be perfectly calibrated to safely cause someone to lose consciousness just long enough for you to sneak past them and do what you need to do but definitely not kill them.
I would love it if some day the show confronted him with the list of people who died at his hand by, say, being punched in the face really hard and slammed against a wall, or kicked off the top of a shipping crate and landing on concrete, or shot through the shoulder with an arrow and dying of an infected wound.
With Laurel rehabilitated (and, er, at least for the moment out of the picture entirely), what other woman was there available for the comic fans to hate?
Thank you. I've always thought it was weird how much folks project their own relationships and weird prejudices and assumptions onto the Clintons' marriage. There are a million reasons why they might have decided to stick together, not the least of which being that they might actually like each other, all completely…
My list of shows is pretty long but the Cohen concert I saw from that same tour, around 2008, is at the very top for me too. It was a three hour show that went by like it was nothing, and that took me through what felt like the full range of emotions I'm capable of experiencing.
In recent tours he replaced that line with "careless sex".
I don't want to hope for too much but I do feel like the show has already started questioning its premise in ways that I think will be productive - that crack about there being no artists, Janet's refusal to tell them about the Bad Place, Eleanor bringing up the question of how this setup is even vaguely just.
Hey now, don't downplay it, she also has a charity and once got sick.
Reporting sexual assault to the police is often exhausting, humiliating, and pointless - particularly in a two-party assault where the attacker is known to the victim. From the little I've read Sulkowicz did in fact start a police complaint but left off when it was clear she wasn't being taken seriously. College…
Right? I mean it is a real issue as far as the search for the truth goes (if three women who've never spoken to each other tell startlingly similar stories, you can be very confident that the similar elements actually occurred, but if they had contact with each other before telling their stories it's harder to find…
You're a piece of work ain't'cha? I should probably stop feeding you, but this stuff is important.
Yes, still telling. People who have been sexually assaulted by people they know maintain contact with the person who hurt them in various ways (nb this applies to all three original Ghomeshi complainants as well). That you seem to think that it's proof that an accusation is false for a woman to send a man who raped…
