Don't worry; as of this morning the Cards are a game and a half up. All is right with the world once more.

Yup. And it looked like Hannibal noticed the recognition as well.

This is exactly my reason for wanting a Ravens-Falcons Superbowl. As a lifelong *cough*Chiefs fan*cough*, I really want to see Tony get his ring.

That's what I took from it too. I grew up in one of those crazy fundamental Baptist churches (no snake handling, but plenty of fire and brimstone and occasionally speaking-in-tongues), and that mirrors a sermon that our preacher gave pretty often. he argued that middle-of-the-road, love-thy-neighbor, progressive

As for abortion songs (there's a playlist I will probably never create), I really like Neko Case's "Pretty Girls." That one has always come across as incredibly sympathetic and personal, and I love how she completely dismisses the political side of it and reminds the listener that women who get abortions are people

No, but in the context of that list it definitely did. I believe they subtitled it "Greatest Love Stories" or something to that effect.

If memory serves, AFI included "Vertigo" on their list of 100 greatest romances/love movies a few years ago. This seems like a good enough place to point out how incredibly disturbing that is.

I agree. I probably hate this episode more than most of the incomprehensible season 9 episodes, just because the terrible comedy makes me embarrassed for everyone involved. I don't know what it is about this episode in particular (maybe it's because I never was a shipper, or maybe it's because it's just painfully

When I was an undergrad, I really wanted to get Agent Scully's ouroboros tramp stamp from "Never Again." I ended up getting a different snake tattoo in the same place, but if a pop-culture one was mandatory I'd replace that sucker in an instant.

No kidding. I'm pretty pissed off about this trend of a national spotlight for the past few weeks. We're going to fail; let us fail in private, dammit!

I remember reading a review once that contended that Lilya-4-ever had an "uplifting" ending. I thought that review was more depressing than the movie itself.

But where's the money in that?

Can we talk about…
what a dick Mulder is in this episode? He's just so painfully condescending to Scully in the scene at Skyland Mountain that I can hardly even stand to watch it. He gets better in "The Red and the Black," but in the first half he's just a complete asshole.

I always saw the ending as more uplifting as that, and I never got the impression that Fran settled. Otherwise, I don't think she would have sprinted all the way to the apartment with a huge grin on her face.

MacMurray is amazing in "The Apartment." He's just charming enough that you get why all of these people are willing to let him walk all over them, and smarmy enough to make him just really loathsome.
