Good call, Karatloz. The Western really built up the "American Dream" myth and then slowly subversively deliberately interestingly deconstructed it.

GONNA RISE UP
GONNA KICK A LITTLE ASS GONNA KICK SOME ASS FOR THE USA

Wow, did you really just insult Nick Andopolis? Are you TRYING to make me slap you?

Barney?
Only people whose truck I'm not holding for ransom call me Barney. You may call me The Commodore.

Soooo
it's like "Mona Lisa Smile," except good?

most of us prefer "dollface."

Lover's Day is seriously sexy.

Wait, it's a real thing? dang.

Dammit, Fake Karatloz, if you keep quoting my favorite sketches I'm going to have to dislike you less. stop it.

Why would they release a Jonas Brothers movie and Princess Protection Program
on the same day? Talk about splitting a demographic. Or maybe things have changed since I was a tweener and kids have tons of disposable income now. Just another reason to hate them.

You should disown those relatives. Pranking you is one thing, but insulting the divinity of Nutella in the process? Unthinkable.

hell yeah, aioli. There's a burger place in my neighborhood that sells it with their french fries. It's amazing.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, YOUNG MAN

Nailed it.

Aww, you're putting the thesaurus I gave to you to good use, I think. Burl, you're a winner!

I guess I should have elaborated - it's not so much the song itself (which is excellent, one of my all-time favorites) but for some reason the video. It's so much a product of its time that something about it charmed me. And I'm solidly in the Generation Y age range, so there's no other way for me to have seen it.

YouTube counts, right?
My British Invasion obsession wouldn't be nearly as strong were it not for old footage of Ready Steady Go, Shindig!, et al. For my money, there's still nothing quite so perfectly wistful and melancholy as this: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Well I was on the fence until you mentioned Billy Zane. Now I'm totally on board.

So wait
Am I the only one who was kinda "meh" about this movie? I mean, it tried hard (and should earn some serious points for even attempting to address these kinds of issues in a major motion picture or whatever). Wahlberg is good. Schwartzman is still coasting on Rushmore points as far as I'm concerned, but that's

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
