I very much disagree

Now I don't have to watch it!

Booooo

But that's what happened…

Yeah, that's it alright

Simpsons used to reference all pop culture ever, now they reference the last 5 years

DBL

I think the point is that in this case the snarking was unfounded and misleading.

You sure showed me

His controversial humour is that contrived that I can only assume it is the result of board meetings

@avclub-05726c736277e78fffb7b9546ad0ec6f:disqus  I can see your point, but personally I don't think any topics should be off-limits for comedians. Reading my previous posts back, I want to say at this point that I'm not a jerk that makes offensive jokes in public and at work then acts all surprised and indignant when

He is the face of corporate-sponsored anti-establishment comedy… I don't see how he is seen as anything other than a pawn.

@avclub-05726c736277e78fffb7b9546ad0ec6f:disqus  Wait, I see now maybe you understandably thought I was calling you a 'smelly impressionable cretin', sorry about that, not what I intended

@avclub-05726c736277e78fffb7b9546ad0ec6f:disqus OK, I thought this was a discussion, not an argument…I apologise if anything about my tone made it seem as though I was throwing a fit, I can assure you this was not my intention, I have no problem whatsoever with people airing ideas that might conflict with my own. Yes, because in that case the act of rape was integral to the humour of the joke, not to mention it was an act of rape taking place in the movies they referenced. I take your original point though, and I think Roswulf nails it below

I find the smug persona especially bothersome when the comedian in question is joking about 'risky' material, and is almost always a young white male in a suit. I could give two shits about checking privileges, it just makes for an inherently unlikable character

You have a go at the adorable kids spouting rape in videogames, asking if they could not have thought of a better word, but at the same time laud Family Guy for using rape in a joke that could easily have not been about rape. Rape.

Pls watch it

Holy shit man!

I thought it was pretty funny, though the jokes are about the industry, a working knowledge is hardly required. I also like the way all the Ron Howard makes that Ron Howard 'maybe a movie' throwaway gag at the end of season 3 convincingly canonical - and it ties up Maeby's working at the studio nicely too.
