Gotta hand so much to Enlightened: Amy's http://www.youtube.com/watc… "All I Ever Wanted" fulfillment montage, the panic attack, the Abaddon showdown. THE WHOLE SEASON
Yup, that whole episode was essentially my favourite TV moment of the year. The panic attack and the "Did I conjure you?" montage especially are some of the most stunning scenes I've seen in years. Dat Mark Motherbaugh score!
Oh, I'll have to totally disagree. While I'm not comfortable calling anything of Bunheads embarrassingly terrible, (Michelle's crying scene in "Blank Up, It’s Time" came close though) the worst moments for me were all within the first ten episodes ranging from the awkwardness and lack of balance/utilization of the…
What pisses me off more than anything regarding this situation, — y'know, beyond ABC Family being dickish enough to let the cast and crew go months without a job and miss pilot season, — is that the show earned itself another California tax credit (aka, 5 million dollars) to fund a hypothetical season 2.
Sasha/Istanbul is amazing and certainly the most iconic, but for me it's Makin Whoopee that leaves me stunned at the technique and directional style. It's such a gorgeous marriage of song and dance and it's just so damn slick.
I'm surprised Grobet went with "Higher Power" over say, something like "All I Ever Wanted"
And as season 3 shows us, Mrs.Kim likes her some Shakespeare.
haha, I was about to say there has not been nearly enough appreciation for that scene. It's classic.
Great points. It's another strength to the writing and performances that I see both of those reflections so easily in the characters similar to what Roswulf elaborates on below.
The badass electric guitar riff as Rory and Lane approach each other is one my favourite moments in the series. Honestly, I mostly do love the episode.
I love "Dead Uncles" but "Five O'Clock at the Oasis" is definitely a respectable choice. Most folks at Twop despised it.
Does anyone else notice the fascinating way ASP plots potential storylines through "background noise" throughout the season? The cheerleader thingy was seeded all the way back in Lane's rambling to Rory in the S1 finale. Others include Paris running for class president later in the season and Richard's work related…
Oh this is an awesome topic. I've thought about this before and while Richard and Lorelai definitely share certain traits, it's always appeared to me at least that Emily is reflected through Lorelai and Richard through Rory. Maybe I'm letting each of their individually stronger relationships colour that, but that's…
Aww, same for my Grandmother.
The Gilmore girls fighting with each other is definitely an occasional feat on this show so yeah, I always kinda adore it when they do.
To be fair, Richard was an even larger dick to Dean prior to that so it was probably just some residual backlash.
"Secrets and Loans" isn't the best episode as it does feel a little bit contrived in setting up another Emily and Lorelai conflict; but worst episode of the series? Dude, WHAT THE FUCK . Beyond the fact that there are several redeeming qualities in it that warrant it being pretty damn enjoyable, ("I hope you don't…
I had seen the piss poor ratings for this so I didn't expect it to survive. That being said, it's a surprisingly great little show and I'm definitely saddened to see it go. Wish it had received a little more support.
Well this fucking sucks.
"but the story doesn't have the interactions we crave for"
