you encapsulated Enlightened and Amy so perfectly I want this comment printed and framed.

It's especially stunning too when the show could so unpredictably veer in tone and structure episode to episode without ever feeling disconnected from each other. His ability to be so experimental whilst anchoring it all together into a cohesive whole was incredible.

I don't even know why I'm bothering to respond but just for future reference, Breaking Bad is my 4th best show of the year and objectively entirely deserving of its enormous recognition. Why you would take what I wrote as some sort of belittling of the people who like it is bizarre and well, dumb.

Well that's a relief and likewise for yourself. Your comments in here have articulated exactly how I feel about it better than I ever could.

oh god, I hope you're not insinuating I'm some crazy pro-Enlightened version of her.

I remember episode 3 fully endearing the characters to me and being in love with the show's underlining empathy. And then Episode 4 came along and took everything to another level of artful and emotional devastation and through that, revealing the core of the show & putting it and everything that came before in a

It won't be an official Enlightened thread without her.

Oh it definitely ended on a high note, that's for sure; but I think it similarly bugs me more because the whole thing was originally envisioned as a trilogy of sorts and knowing that just one more season would've completed the story Mike White and Laura Dern set out to make leaves me feeling even more bitter about its

The entire "did I conjure you?" sequence in "All I Ever Wanted" just destroyed me. That gorgeous combination of Todd Haynes direction and Xavier Perez Grobet's cinematography, Mothersbaugh's score and Amy's narration, her wrenching desire at having possibly achieved something truly meaningful and satisfying, some sort

I was the *second* comment in, I was clearly referring to yesterday's insane and hilarious reaction to Breaking Bad coming in at #2.

In addition to Enlightened deservedly placing at #1, the
collective meltdowns from some of the Breaking Bad fans have made this whole thing such a perfect early Christmas present.

lol

Whatever at this news, it says Amy Sherman-Palladino is doing a TV show of Rachel Rising!

I agree and I do think he's improving too, although we are now passing the classic GG years (though S4 is part of that for myself) and some of the most important opportunities for observation and discussion. I just think these reviews have been especially disappointing because I know Sims is capable of delivering

Hadn't been able to respond to this til now but wow, it's hilarious and pathetic that I predicted exactly how they would frame our fairly reasonable complaints. I myself have even pointed out I don't want love letters or endless gushing, just mild appreciation for the show that Sims is covering for TV Club CLASSICS

I think the reason I wish Winward Circle actually had been ordered to series is because Gilmore would've been salvaged of Anna and April Nardini. It was so obviously recycled from something potentially charming and cute in this backdoor pilot into something insufferable and show ruining on this one.

While I like the episode fine, it needed above all else to be directed by ASP. Always bums me out.

The whole episode signifies the show transitioning into a new era and it's always really bittersweet for me. No more Chilton (or Madeline and Louise), no more Independence Inn and no more Rory living in Stars Hollow. It's a lot to take in!

Oh man, I forgot to mention one of my all time favourite moments! It is indeed to the sweetest and best teaser the show ever featured. Such a rare and purely jubilant shared moment between ALL of the Gilmore clan.

That was because the rest of her birthday gift money was going towards opening the Dragonfly.
