But then he might as well dislike the majority of the show's run because it regularly functions like these two episodes.

of course not! Rory even says it. :)
^to Mytly: While Mia owns the inn, I'm not given the impression she's Emily and Richard Gilmore rich. Combined with the fact that Lorelai needed ALL of it paid for immediately and the grandparents — however estranged — live nearby and adore their grandaughter, it makes sense that she'd go to her family; even if it is…
Also can we talk about that fight scene between Sookie and Lorelai? That tracking shot, the performances and even speedier dialogue. This show was so *technically* impressive at times.
Absolutely. I laughed just reading it.
Exactly. It's a firm foundation to the character.
via the AVclub twitter: " Two episodes of Gilmore Girls that lack drama, compelling plots or anything else to latch on to."
It's supposed to be embarrassing. The beauty of it comes from Emily committing to it and Lorelai's reaction/subsequent joining.
Yeah, it's honestly kinda bizarre.
These are my favourite things about Rory and cement many of the reasons that made her so endearing in the classic years.
We don't talk about that Mia, Eclectic Mayhem.
Chilton was a lot of money that needed to be paid immediately. I can't see Lorelai wanting to impose on a woman that isn't living in Connecticut and has already provided so much for her.
Definitely. I love the character and actress and always clamored for another appearance.
Across these two episodes we get the fashion show + Mia, and you STILL consider them duds?…
and not a single nomination for Enlightened or Laura Dern.
The visual gag of Luke struggling with the groceries, determined to ignore Lorelai standing there and passively asking if he needs help, is hilarious.
It's such a calm, pretty and sad encapsulation of their dysfunction and through Lorelai's outreach, it adds that ache of hopefulness that maybe things can (but probably won't) get better, giving the scene as you point out, that perfect, appropriately bittersweet touch.
Fucking Jess Mariano, here we go…
I can see why some people find them annoying but to me they're such a fundamental aspect of the show. They definitely elevate it for me.
And so we come to the end of the summer quadrilogy. ' Red Light' is another complete classic episode featuring some of my favourite things ever which include:
