Finally watched this tonight. Really dig it. Reminded me of Bridge On The River Kwai quite a bit. Except, you know, with apes.

Gee, I dunno. Where was the right on the tasteless, racist, violent "jokes" being made about the Obamas for 8 years?

I'm from the Indian subcontinent and grew up during the 80's and 90's: the Ovaltine/Horlicks marketing campaign was always in full force. The drinks were always marketed as "high energy" drinks with ads showing kids playing soccer (well, football), running around with kites or whatever. The ads would always encourage

even Goldberg's kid looked bored by the outcome.

this was…not great. I was slowly starting to get back into Raw due to the nice Strowman build and cruiserweights, but anyone who thought Kevin Owens was remotely going over Goldberg was a fool. So I count myself as a mild fool. I mean, fuck your up and coming talents or proper heel champs, am I right?

Ouch. That's pretty damning. I hated that episode when I first saw it, definitely my vote for worst episode. In all my rewatches I steadfastly avoid that one.

Fake convention. They don't even have a Zack Snyder panel or a single booth babe to speak of. Sad!

sole blame should lie on Zack Snyder. He has taken a fat dump on the first outing of the DCCU and now they think this shitty template he's laid down will be followed to a letter by other actually competent movie makers.

What if James Bond was also a Juggalo?

Just recast, goddammit! If people raise a fuss, just tell them this is how Hollywood used to do things. Find a good actor/actress for the part and make it fucking work. Stop with the corpse marionette show that looks to be the next big disturbing trend. Hollywood's either completely forgotten how to be creative and

the crumminess of the impression is kinda part of the comedy of it though. They fully admit on Twitter that it sounds like Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending but if you watch Halloween 6, Pleaseance does kinda sound like that. A raspy voiced old Brit who is all about his shock jock zoo crew is pretty damn hilarious.

the Transformers movies' bread and butter right there.

for live action, both the animated series and the Nolan series of films are completely valid in their own rights because they do tackle the subject matter using their chosen tone very well. I think the best representation period of Batman would be the animated show. It is pretty much the perfect, definitive

even if he's not directing, him and his wife are going to be executive producers for all these movies until either of them die of a scarf related mishap somewhere down the line.

because we hadn't seen anything like it before, and it fit the character and the world around him perfectly. Applying that method to subsequent characters without any attempt at an artistic license gives us confused horseshit like BvS or Suicide Squad. Even Man of Steel mistakenly carried the somber tone of Batman

Communicopita!

Of course! The Barb rises.

Maybe baby

All I'm taking away from all of this is 1)that ship has sailed and 2) I guess I'm watching Space Mutiny tonight
