His reasons are interesting. He said he thinks he's done everything he's talented enough to do and that he'd feel like he was repeating himself if he kept working. He also wants to devote ten solid years to becoming a painter.

That's what I was thinking.

Bubble's interesting. I actually enjoyed it more than GFE. Also: soundtrack by Robert Pollard.

I'm not usually one for defending Nerdist, especially lately, but I will say that the interview was at the Paley Center and specifically was an interview for Late Night. Hardwicke just happened to be able to release it as a podcast, but it's really only tangentially related to Nerdist.

Hipster 1: Oh, here comes The National. They're cool.
Hipster 2: Are you being sarcastic, dude?
Hipster 1: I don't even know anymore.

The guy lived in Akron for years, and North Dakota before that. I'd say he's paid his dues in the "real world."

Bon Iver? Puh-leez. One good album and a great EP does not equate with 15+ years of greatness.

And he talks a lot about his knowledge of sports being very helpful in social situations, which I agree with. For instance, if you go to a wedding in your girlfriend's hometown and know nobody, and she leaves you to go mingle and you're left with a bunch of other guys who don't know anyone, the one thing most guys are

I had high hopes for Downtown Owl but was disappointed. Couldn't get over the fact that all the characters seemed to talk like Klosterman. Probably would have enjoyed it more if I'd had low expectations.

Everyone should listen to Klosterman's interview with Marc Maron on WTF a few weeks ago. Maron is telling him how he listens to the BS Report and is amazed at how CK can make all these connections between all these disparate things whether it's unions or women's basketball or Charlie Sheen, etc. and Klosterman

From AP: "In an interview in Vanity Fair, Jeff Richmond says a stranger slashed Fey's face when she was 5 years old. He says the incident occurred in the front yard of her house."

Yeah, I seem to recall that she was playing in her yard and some guy walks up and cuts her face. Something along those lines.

How about gay panic jokes?

I guess the idea of Raylan in Miami feels a little too much like a typical cop show to me. I've seen enough gun fights in Miami to last a lifetime. If they were in a more skeezy redneck locale in northern Florida like Jacksonville, I could get behind that. I had heard somewhere that Leonard was writing a new Raylan

I'm guessing Boyd meant when they came by Arlo's to offer their condolences. But yeah, Boyd is reaching a bit. I think he just wants to seal things off with Ava and Raylan, and make sure she knows Boyd could take down Raylan any time he wants.

Agreed…felt more movie-like than usual.

Why is the neck on his t shirt so wide? Size down, Nabin! Down!

Warren, my man, we have the same taste in women. Seen Last American Virgin?

His grandmother is hot.

"Someday" is like a distillation of John Mellencamp's career, yet a thousand times better than anything he ever did.
