Fillion is fantastic, actually. As is Kranz and Lenk. Denisof starts out a little stiff but warms up fairly quickly. Diamond's quite good. Maher's fine. It's more the younger actors (most of whom I don't know) that are stilted.

Hard to say. It's a very likable movie, and things like this do sometimes break out. If it picks up any awards season buzz, that might help. If not, I can see Whedon self-releasing it a la DR HORRIBLE, on the internet and VOD.
