This is what worries me about this show in general. I worry it thinks exposing the viewers to progressive gender roles means teaching them that it's okay to be a fat little beta male if you're a boy and that if you're a girl you're fundamentally awesome.

It pisses me off that AV Club had Mike D'Angelo review what is probably Miyazaki's last film. His every review or piece of writing as a critic that I've ever read has been wrongheaded at best. This is no exception. He's basically sad that a Miyazaki movie is grounded more or less in reality here. That's bullshit.
