Oh hey I thought of another economically-progressive Christian. Catholic guy, Francis something. Not sure on the last name. Real commie. I don't think he has a position of much authority in the church, I just remember reading about how he was pissing off Republicans a few months back.

Good to know Dietrich Bonhoeffer never existed. Or the Quakers or Mennonites, who are pacifist. Or Martin Effing Luther King Jr. Or literally millions of left-wing Christians around the globe at this very moment (MLK was, and the vast majority of the black American church is also, economically progressive). Or the

Christians don't actually believe any of that. Ephesians 2:8-9.

Is Duck Dynasty still on the air? 19 Kids & Counting?

It's been this way since I was a kid, pretty sure it started when the Culture Wars ramped up. Makes me downright angry. Happy to have finally found a church near my house that doesn't push that garbage.

Spear in the side, blood and water. I would assume a lot more than that.

As someone who grew up Christian in the midwest, I thought the movie Junebug really got a lot of stuff right, even though the church stuff wasn't necessarily the focus of the movie. It felt very true.

I would add that a good number of Christians view it that way (or at least much of it that way) as well. There's a new covenant, and you are not a Bible character. Otherwise, being left-handed, I might be looking for a king to stab.

This is an absurd statement. Hitler committed genocide as part of an insane quest for power and world domination. It had nothing to do with religious belief and it was unsupportable by any halfway sane interpretation of the Bible (Jesus was a pacifist, God stands with Israel in the coming apocalypse, etc.). He was

I can think of other Churches that didn't collaborate. "By their fruits," the Man said:

I mean, I can't think of a reason to make music besides money.

Or you don't have access to God's greatest curative elixir, Vernor's ginger ale.

Seven-Up IS a viable alternative! Up yours, AV Club!

I think Alkaline Trio was instrumental in pushing pop-punk darker before MCR and others showed up. Also Blink-182 took them on tour as an opening act and contributed to their popularity. Also one of the guys from Alkaline Trio is probably gonna replace Tom in Blink-182. Really I just think it's a shame this article

I'm gonna echo that I don't think Kristen Stewart was very good, but she wasn't bad enough to bring the movie down. Martin Starr's character was my favorite. I think he stole the whole movie.

Yeah, it was sold out online so I bit the bullet. I'm not a completionist for any band but I have a lot of Mogwai. I'm also a big fan of a lot of their throwaway songs—the stuff that came with the Rave Tapes "deluxe edition" was as good as what made the album, I think. I'd have to win the lotto to get it all, damn

I got the Mogwai soundtrack on vinyl from a local record store at a kinda crazy markup ($35). Worth it.

The 2011 right-to-work bill had "literally nothing" to do with fixing Wisconsin's budgets.

Uh, Rock Bottom???

That's a strong take re: your strong taste. You're like the PFTCommenter of the AV Club. I'm assuming Broad City hasn't yet shown the grit and maturity you require from a silly sitcom.
