It kinda is. The aspect that is troubling about that song is that the performers/writers seem oblivious to it.

As they pointed out in the article, compressing for characterization is one thing. These examples are changing the entire dynamic of sequences while leaving little else "compressed." I think the difference between the two should be obvious.
