When I was a kid, I had a tape my brother had made for himself and didn't want anymore.  It had Run DMC's "Raising Hell" on side A and Ice T's "Power" on the other side.  As far as I'm concerned, that's what music should sound like.

Lil B is better, I've never listened to Chief Keef nor do I know anyone who has, Lil Twist hasn't even released an album, and I had no idea Soulja Boy was even still releasing music.
Let me rephrase: Tyler is the worst writer in rap among people whose albums' reviews don't mention early and often that the lyrics

Oh my god, is the world finally, FINALLY realizing that this guy can't rap and never could?  I literally cannot name a famous rapper with worse lyrics than this guy, and I'm not talking about content, I'm talking about QUALITY.  Theo Huxtable could outrap this moron.

Oh, so it's Ming-Na WEN all of a sudden again, huh?  Well, lah-di-dah.

I want Johnathan M. Woodward, because I find him really weirdly bizarrely attractive.

So really the entire first few paragraphs of this thing are just Rabinspeak for "The subject of this movie gave me boners."

Legit question: If she was ugly but had exactly the same manner and personality, would people  find her creepy?

I dunno, Jay Johnson seems pretty together.

I maintain the dude who plays Judas in that gives one of the top 5 performances in movie history.  I'm absolutely serious.

My brother (8 years older than me) used to watch this show when I was a little, little kid.  He was the only other boy I knew, and so I totally looked up to him.

It's called histrionic personality disorder, and it's not interesting just because a famous person has it.

@avclub-50cdf52b4612bd5b419e775ddfc08314:disqus  Of course it is, but I don't understand why pointing it out in a specific context is ever a problem.  There's also the fact that rap is way more culturally relevant than rock, so addressing rap's misogyny is a better use of resources. And while it's good to remind people

@avclub-7aefa9e2af18cd9e2fde628a5e813aa5:disqus  It's very easy for there to be false positives of sanctimoniousness for people who are wanting good messages.  You can get away with being twice as obnoxious wanting drugs and hoes because it's base and lowest-common-denominator.  It's a weird thing that being smug

Yeah, but 1: Those people don't exist, and 2: Anyone in favor of smart, positive messages is automatically better than anyone in favor of regressive, dumb messages, and 3: It's a false dichotomy that no one would see if the critics didn't make such a big deal about it.

Check out every single one of his mixtapes too, even the recent ones.  He is one of the best wordplay guys around, and he's more interesting when he's just screwing around.

Oh, okay.  It's a problem in rock, so therefore it's not a problem in rap.  Gotcha.

The Cool (the song) is better.  A little better.  Actually, now I'm not sure.  They're close.

Odelay -> Mutations -> Midnite Vultures -> Sea Change

I want to meet Mae Whitman once, so I too can be one of the most amazing, beautiful, cool people in the world.

Billy Crystal is inoffensive, but here's the thing: Inoffensive is GOOD now, because kids are more conservative than their parents.  "Stuck up people" used to be prudes, and now "stuck up people" are folks who dislike racism and misogyny.
