I liked this episode. I probably might've given it an A-, but it was far too obvious that either Sam or Dean were going to be possessed by the spectre by the end of the episode.

So it seems to me that the theme of this season is good/reformed monsters, which is good because that episode from last season where Dean killed Amy really erked me. It seemed so wrong and out of character to me. Perhaps they will even address that this season.

IMDB says that he was born in Halifax. The Maritimes have a pretty distinct accent/dialect, even from the rest of Canada (which, being Canadian, I never notice). They tend to put more emphasis on their R's. So you might be right about the overcompensating thing.

At least it's been kind of stable. It even rebounded from a 1.2 a couple weeks ago. It appears that The Mindy Project is still falling though. Maybe Fox jumped the gun on giving that one 3 more episodes than Ben and Kate.
