Dungeons & Dragons made me question the Catholic Church and eventually become an atheist. This was back in the early 80's.  What's funny is that whenever the hardcore Christians would rail against D&D I would always defend D&D but secretly I knew they were right, Christians could be turned by D&D.

I've done Bonnaroo 6 times and I can tell you that the amount of fun you have is pretty much determined by the people you go with and your camp neighbors more so than any other factor.

Years ago I was a delivery driver in that part of Texas and went down to Port Arthur several times.  What really stood out was navigating through the refineries and pipeline networks that dominate the landscape to fine people living in little 3-4 house clusters.  I could not imagine living in a house completely

If you were reading a novel that followed the same trajectory as Lost it would be unacceptably bad.  A well written story doesn't introduce elements just for the sake of it and then dismiss them without a thought later.

I didn't expect too much out of Parks and Recreation myself but after watching a couple of the season three episodes (Media Blitz, Indianapolis, Harvest Festival) I found them to be some of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV.  After that, I went back and started the whole thing from Season 1.  It's really a

I think the show only works if you still side with Walter and pull for him even though you know he's not a very good person.  I could not do that, I lost all sympathy for him pretty quickly and after that the show lost all its charm for me.

I was going to post the same thing.  If you're a fan of British-Monty Pythonesque type humor then this is a definite thing to check out.

Agreed.  I don't see what the appeal is.  He's an aging pop star that people treat as if he's some kind of great American storyteller.

Speaking of hamburgers for breakfast, I once hung out with a group of German exchange students years ago.  When asked on of them what the best thing about America was, he immediately answered without hesitation "Hamburgers for breakfast!"

Pretty much same story here, I got into Beulah and didn't know anything about any of these other bands or the whole Elephant 6 thing.  I still listen to Yoko and Coast is Never Clear pretty regularly.  I even got to see them live on their last tour.

I think this clip accurately summarizes everything in this article:

Improv Everywhere is so fucking tired…like a veggie and dip platter at an office party. OK we all get it, you're injecting whimsy and magic into everyone's life whether they like it or not.  Real life is just so ordinary!

My first was Front 242 - Junkdrome.  I downloaded it on dialup from an FTP that I found using some FTP search engine that I thought was totally badass.  About a month or two later a blind guy that I met turned me on to Napster and from there it was WinMX, Audiogalaxy, Kazaa and finally the Russian mp3 sites where I

Ponderous - 2Nu

This song was everywhere back then, I remember it sparked somewhat of a faddish phase of people in my high school doing research on the Vietnam War and spouting facts about it just like the song.

Oh I remember that song and just hating it.  I don't know why it was ever played on the radio at all.
