I've done Bonnaroo 6 times and I can tell you that the amount of fun you have is pretty much determined by the people you go with and your camp neighbors more so than any other factor.

If you were reading a novel that followed the same trajectory as Lost it would be unacceptably bad.  A well written story doesn't introduce elements just for the sake of it and then dismiss them without a thought later.

I think the show only works if you still side with Walter and pull for him even though you know he's not a very good person.  I could not do that, I lost all sympathy for him pretty quickly and after that the show lost all its charm for me.

Agreed.  I don't see what the appeal is.  He's an aging pop star that people treat as if he's some kind of great American storyteller.

Speaking of hamburgers for breakfast, I once hung out with a group of German exchange students years ago.  When asked on of them what the best thing about America was, he immediately answered without hesitation "Hamburgers for breakfast!"

Pretty much same story here, I got into Beulah and didn't know anything about any of these other bands or the whole Elephant 6 thing.  I still listen to Yoko and Coast is Never Clear pretty regularly.  I even got to see them live on their last tour.

This song was everywhere back then, I remember it sparked somewhat of a faddish phase of people in my high school doing research on the Vietnam War and spouting facts about it just like the song.
