That band is the worst band. What a nightmare. I almost quite watching the show entirely because I couldn't stand to watch their hipster antics every night. Also, for a supposedly accomplished band, they seem to only know 5 songs - how many times have we heard Batiste bang out Fur Elise?

I love that it is considered "best practice" when that "practice" has resulted in me unfollowing countless shows and actors. It's unbelievably annoying and completely worthless. Hey! You tweeted the line that a character just said with the hashtag #OMG! I feel so engaged!

I would echo the recommendation of Dear Catastrophe Waitress. I had heard them previously and scored them as "sad bastard music" a la High Fidelity but someone gave me that album and I thought it was excellent.

I have a Kickstarter currently running and this makes me sad beyond the capacity for rational thought.

I guess it would be too much to hope for to ask for a real investigation into his death… nerts.

And now I am sad.

This new review format is an atrocity. Like if an awkward local news affiliate started doing TV reviews. Perhaps with the advent of HTML5 their tech gurus will find a way to include wacky morning zoo sound effects.

Well that's the first time I've ever heard anyone rant about The Sound of Music. Then again, I guess I missed out on how it oppressively defined the culture during the 1960s. Funny I don't see too many pictures of flower children wearing liederhosen.

Cripes I remember that episode vividly. How bizarre. Also a Diff'rent Strokes ep where they were confronted with a bag of "grass" that someone had found, and I was confused as to why anyone would smoke lawn clippings.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I'd watch that.

Jack Elam as the Frankenstein monster? Now that's just smart casting.

Did that pilot really go to air? Now *that* is unexpected.

"We were wrong to suggest you shouldn't be friends with a grown man you met in the park in 1970s New York City"

I watched that whole godforsaken pilot and it's really, really weird. "Hey it's a show about a freakish little weirdo and his entire family really hates him in an aggressive and borderline murderous way." Hey and also frisky time in bed and talking about "perverts".

No, weirdly enough it's true. I remember them talking about it at the time. They really were going to have a whole different story and lineup every season, but when the gang from Season 1 proved such a hit (Save the Cheerleader! ZOMG watercooler fodder!!) they kind of ditched the entire premise of the series. Remember

I don't know if they'd worry about "inviting comparisons" since they only people likely to remember the first show are people who were kids and thought it was awesome like I did.

I've been legitimately surprised by all the people who have brought up Jennings; I never had any real attachment to him. I guess it's because as a kid our nightly news came from CBS, hence my great love of Cronkite and lasting fondness for Rather. I was certainly sad that he passed away, especially at such a young

I agree with you. While obviously I was saddened by his illnesses and passing, I've never been able to understand his beatification. He seemed like a nice enough guy who really loved movies, and I agreed with him sometimes and disagreed with him sometimes. Maybe my viewpoint is skewed because of his latter-years

I completely agree. I was shocked at how terrible the MI remake looked when I bought it. No style whatsoever. I wound up just playing in EGA mode instead.

I recently got the Secret of Monkey Island remake on Steam and was astounded by how amateurish and, generally, awful it looked. Like some notebook-doodling high school kids had been given a WACOM. I wound up switching to the original EGA graphics and playing with them instead, because they just look so much better.
