Also, knowing John K's penchant for young girls, no. But he's like Uncle Terry with a pencil instead of a camera so she's used to it.

I've been enjoying John Kricfalusi's animation on the F'real milkshake machines at Speedway. When I get off work at 230 am and stop for gas I try and check them out. You have to watch the machine for a few minutes before the video starts up but the Speedway people don't seem to think anything of some weirdo staring

A friend/fellow Youngstown State alum had the film adaptation of his novel "One For Sorrow" premiere tonight. "Jamie Marks Is Dead" is going to mislead a bunch of Twihards, but will hopefully immerse them in its "Brick"-esque high-school noir. Read Chris Barzak's book if the film seems interesting to you.

I'm drunk, I'm wasted, I love you, I'm Polish!

Watched Queen: Live from Wembley Stadium. Spent hours in slack jawed amazement discussing the superhuman frontman powers of Freddie Mercury.

Squidbergo-san!

His "Tales from the Crypt" episode ("Abra Cadaver") is one of my favorite in the series. He's great as a mad scientist, though it takes no great effort to want to kill Tony Goldwyn.

Damn, Sharon Jones puts on a good show. I always bring her up to my mom when she says she's too old to do anything new. I wanted to take mom to see the band on their upcoming tour, I hope I get some money before it sells out. Mom needs to be inspired, and Ms Jones does just that.

Spawn, Lost Highway and Natural Born Killers were primo 90s soundtrack fodder for the burgeoning angstling.

90s punk has been helping me get through this dreary suicidal Ohio winter. It's like one of those Seasonal Affective Disorder sun hats. That and Van Morrison.

Reykjavík? Nearly killed him!

Now With More Plulp!

This seems like something common people would do.

Conveeeeeenient Damon Albarn owns a bar …

Metal dudes have the I'm-in-a-band thing going for them though because of the constant touring and hair sometimes they are kind of stinky. I did not learn this from being at High On Fire's backstage party at all.

They will make love to you with pop-culture references!

Also, I always loved the little backflip Tito Puente's band singer does at the end of the song, and how the trumpeters switch horns. The little animation touches are nice.

Comedy Central was a complete mystery to me in the early 90s (being from NE Ohio) so I thought Pardon My Zinger was a real show until … just now. Also didn't notice the MST3K ref in Part I until I caught on in the Sci-Fi days.

I invented a holiday - Stripey Sweater Day - which falls on a Wednesday in January usually. It commemorates a day in which stripes of the knit shirts of longshoremen aligned and opened a hole in the universe, not unlike a hole Jaws opened in the side of the Orca. This year, it is January 29. Feel free to take part.

Whenever AVClub has an article involving the newfound prevalence of stoner/noise metal, I have conflicted happy to read about it / worried hipsters will ruin it feelings. I'm glad bands are getting the recognition, as most of them are longtime road dogs. I went from seeing Mastodon at the 300-person Emissions From the
