So how many analogues appear in this series? Grundy is basically The Hulk (with his own Thunderbolt Ross counterpart), and the above group is their version of The Defenders. The Annihilator is the DCAU Destroyer, Amazo is very Dr. Manhattan-like, The Question is kinda like Rorschach, who was a Question analogue to

The lady and I watched Task Force X for the first time in years last night….so, so good.

Demon Knights was fun, but my god was it decompressed to all hell under Cornell.

That's funny, I HATED Emma Watson in that movie…though I can't really say I like her in anything, it always feels like "acting!!".

Played the "A Feast for Crows" expansion to the A Game of Thrones board game. Some interesting changes were put in place that I rather like, I think Objective cards add alot to the game vs. the nebulous get 7 castles strategy…the game also moves ALOT faster, we were done in three rounds. The Lannisters have an

Sadly, there isn't really, and what they did wasn't terribly spectacular.
There's the Evolution trade that covers Rucka's first set of stories post-NML, and then the Officer Down crossover that Rucka, Brubaker and a few others collaborated on. After that, it's just cross-over central with Bruce Wayne:

It also would have been a marriage that might be have been impossible to ever nullify once you go down that route. I mean, I'm not sure, but wouldn't that have been the first lesbian marriage in super-hero comics? Whenever the next quasi-reboot were to happen, getting rid of that marriage would cause an even bigger

I like both runs quite a bit, I also really like the Brubaker/Rucka stuff before it, it's been a great 12-13 years to be a Bat-fan.

Forever Evil is also story-driven per what Johns has been doing in JL and JLA.

Azzarello is the only person on board with the noir chops to take on the character that I can think of, though perhaps Ales Kot would have been okay if they hadn't screwed the pooch on that one. Maybe Tim Seeley writing the Killer Croc issue is a sign that he's next in line for that book…? I mean, Revival does have a

His Batman is the bee's knees still, but his Superman just hasn't grabbed me yet…its probably that Jim Lee art…

At this point, I get excited for Snyder's Batman, Azzarello's Wonder Woman, Pak's Batman/Superman and Lemire's Green Arrow. I'm hopeful Kindt gets a regular gig soon, but its hard to imagine they won't treat him any better than they treated Ales Kot.

So, I enjoyed Count Vertigo, Darkseid, and Deadshot very much. I'm also glad I read Relic, as the concept of the character is actually quite good, and has me excited to a read a little more GL for the first time in a while. I'm hoping the Darkseid book is a sign they're going to give Pak the lead on whatever Apokolips

Ran most of the comics panels at DragonCon, so if you attended any of those, it's possible you may have met or at least saw me talk for a minute or two. It was especially fun getting to interview Darwyn Cooke and Amanda Conner for their Before Watchmen panel. There's alot of interesting detail going on there that

James Spader?
He needs to call me.

If Avengers is a master class in how to build an event, I must hate events, because wow that comic is interminably boring. New Avengers is like a completely different writer altogether.

On the other hand, I didn't like Spaced…so I guess this means I'll love this?

@avclub-5125ad2b58405bb877649bbea104f866:disqus I think you got Avengers and New Avengers mixed up there.

Yep, easily the two best books Marvel puts out (with Thor and FF right there too) everything else is so far behind its not even funny.

It goes from a really cool sci-fi type name to a bad CBS procedural sound-alike.
