I felt a sense of relief when I heard Diggle was off Action…as he will always be the guy that botched up Daredevil for a little while for me. I've yet to read much of his work that I actually enjoy…maybe Adam Strange? Not even his lauded Green Arrow stuff appeals to me.

Lady was out of town, so this weekend was spent working on my website mostly…but I did catch a few films.

Same here but with Superman, other than my childhood love of the LSH.

well done, I buy it.

I gotta say, thumbs down on the Smith stuff…but everything since has been golden other than Bob Gale, Diggle (who I've always found overrated), and surprisingly a not so strong run from Brubaker.

Waid's Daredevil is consistently one of my favorite books to pick up each month…it's a perfect compliment to the grimness produced by Bendis back in the day, which more or less picked up where Born Again left off. I didn't enjoy Brubaker's run as much, other than the very VERY good Devil in Cell Block D arc.

Hum's Downward is Heavenward is the one album I've never stopped loving.

I thought it was Golden Age actually

Been my hope the entire time. Snyder actually has chops, he just has never really had anybody curtail his extravagances. Perhaps this has changed.

I don't know what that is, but I now I feel compelled to go seek it out somewhere. Can I nab it digitally?

yeah, his writing is very Whedon-like to me, which made him a perfect fit for the Buffy comic…but his sci-fi just feels slight. I prefer Prophet by a large margin for my jonesing in that area.

Including an incredibly dated third act! Sorry, all kidding aside, I enjoy the 1978 film, and Hackman's hammy portrayal, but it really doesn't stand the test of time other than Reeve. Ugh, that awful Lois internal monologue…

The trailer is very good…but I thought the Watchmen trailer was too…at least this looks less green-screened and a little more natural. Is it possible that Snyder is maturing as a filmmaker? Was Syncopy standing over his shoulder the entire time?

Its from Birthright by Mark Waid.

I don't read Love and Rockets, so I speak from a place of ignorance…but do the Hernandez Bros. really deserve two slots in Best Writer/Artist? I'd have rather seen JH Williams take one of those places…his Batwoman is utter comics art.

My thoughts exactly, I'm always back and forth on whether I preferred them or Hum.

@avclub-884c4beddd8c98bb3b016bdfcc1bcdf8:disqus And maybe he can still do it, but that was 15-20 years ago the last time I remember him using that inflection. The most recent example I can think of is the Gotham Knight animated film, and he stuck out somewhat poorly as a supposedly younger Batman…just my opinion

I quite liked Nolan North as the Penguin, though I kinda hope they re-cast Batman for Arkham Origins. Conroy is great, but he sounds like Batman at 35-40, not Year Two Batman.

The voice actor for Gordon was awful in the Arkham games, luckily they limited his use. Were say…Bryan Cranston playing him, I'd want an entire Gordon game.
