These past two issues have highlighted Tomasi's strengths on the run and have worked well, sadly everything preceding them have only been half good comics. The Nobody arc was great when it dealt with Bruce and Damian's relationship, but floundered whenever the personality-free villain showed up. It was even worse

She and JH (supposedly) had a big falling out, but she's been freelance the whole time…I'm not sure why she hasn't been scooped up, as she's got quite the following.

Yep, I wish he was coming on as the regular artist with Williams stepping down from those duties, McCarthy, like Francis Portela, is just one of those artists I don't get the appeal of.

Not me, I'm down for Snyder's take on Batman's origins, especially if it increases Riddler's importance to this version of the mythos.

To each their own I guess, Bendis hasn't written anything I've really enjoyed since Daredevil, decompression or not, he's a good dialogue writer but his plots leave a heck of alot to be desired.

That's a fair point, but that's probably a pretty similar trope in any fish out of water, fantasy setting film. Granted I can't think of any off the top of my head right now.

Funny, I thought he was the only thing about the movie that worked, kinda subverting the expectations of how that role was supposed to be played (originally Robert Downey Jr was the lead). My biggest problem, beyond stupid character motivations, was Mila Kunis…woefully miscast.

It's funny, I felt the exact opposite. Whenever the camera wasn't focused on the better actors of the show (Rick and the Governor), it suffered terribly. Glenn makes me want to claw my eyes out.

Friday: Went and saw Oz, I enjoyed it somewhat okay. I certainly found it a hell of alot better than that heaping pile Jack the Giant Slayer. It still had script issues and Mila Kunis was woefully miscast, but James Franco was hilarious and made the film for me. Very disappointed though that we didn't get more

It's terrible.

Fair enough, both our points stand. :-)

I thought the final issue was strong, actually alot stronger than Lemire's ho-hum Animal Man this week. I'll probably be dropping that title, but I'm very interested to try  Soule's first issue of Swamp Thing. I love that cover.

And what's the percentage of Avengers and X-men books that make up Marvel Now?

B+ eh? I don't think this could get anything better than a C. I didn't even chuckle once, or smirk beyond a couple of Chevy Chase lines. I don't mind that the show is softening its overt genre exercises which were starting to come into excess last season, but it needs to actually be funny at some point…which is kind

Exactly, returning to the idiotic Woodbury stuff is going to feel like returning to work after an awesome vacation.

Yeah, considering that terrible Manhattan episode, I concede your point.

Now I know how Doctor Who fans felt after seeing Blink.

I'm pretty sure in the comics Rick is from Kentucky, I'm not sure if the show altered that or not…it'd be a hell of a car ride if they didn't.

Thanks much, I can see where you're coming from with Argo. It's fairly typical in all of its aspects, I just got sucked into it.
