Solid episode, not a highlight by any means, but decent Parks and Rec is better than just about every other sitcom according to my lady : http://www.kylegoestothemov…

It has a very smart first half, but the second half is idiotic and basically wastes the good-will and interesting themes of what comes before. I found it disappointing. Catherine Zeta-Jones is kind of awful in this as well. Must still have camera-rust.
Not in the Japanese Street Fighter, Balrog is the Spaniard and M. Bison is the boxer, etc etc…
Vega!!!
This is a month old, heck I was the first one to bring it up on the Big Issues column the week the issue came out. But anything that brings attention to Azzarello and Chiang's beautiful work here…Seriously Action, WW, and Batman are as good as they've ever been at one time.
Everytime I see him in something, all I can see is his character in Parks and Rec, I know I'm in the minority here but I always find him distracting in more serious fare…then again, this is the fucking movie with a talking Raccoon, so he should be the least embarrassing part.
How about The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? or Bendis' Daredevil?
@avclub-da496e2db2e50a068b4ae5549d4ae1b0:disqus Unfortunately neither classic run REALLY holds up, though Levitz and Giffen's two big storylines "Great Darkness Saga" and "Eye for an Eye" come the closest. I would have liked to have seen how Shooter planned to close out the storyline when he took over for Waid, as the…
Different strokes, I thought the same thing when it came out, but re-reading it now as Waid is arguably comic's top writer lately…I find it to be a revelation on par with Giffen's 5YL Legion. Waid introduced really smart concepts including some Moffatt-era Doctor Who-level stuff with Lemnos. Let me ask you, are you…

@avclub-64f027640f63616a277e92096313264f:disqus I don't disagree, but there's a difference between being on sale for 14.99, and being relegated to the bargain bin, though I've already seen The Artist there at my local Best Buy.

On the other hand, some of its fellow nominees won't be, for example, I had pay premium price for The Tree of Life. I imagine Beasts of the Southern Wild and Amour won't be hitting the bargain bins anytime soon.

@avclub-79557cb93066f4470b8cee6e9110f757:disqus The Fighter, but it at least had Bale and Leo propping it up a good deal.
It took me forever to get the appeal of OK Computer, then again I was a high schooler when it came out and I was more interested in the Deftones at the time. Now I regret having pushed aside such brilliance in favor of distortion pedals and power chords.
Fictional or not, and while somewhat predictable as well, its second half remains entertaining. SLP doesn't manage that, IMO of course.
The live singing concept is something to be applauded, even if it doesn't work at all times. It also had a beautiful sense of art direction, unfortunately Hooper's camera was so all over the place you barely had an opportunity to see it.
As much as I wanna buy this, I'm hoping it pops up on Spotify which I've been paying for monthly rather than buying albums anymore.
