I'm really hoping we haven't got another Flash Forward on our hands here.

The Americans is on notice from me as well. Tonally, it just seems all over the place. Wigs and glasses as a disguise? I know this sort of thing happens in real life, and did so recently, but a show has to be classier than real life sometimes to be taken seriously.
It's good to see Stewart Lee mentioned here, as I don't think he's known in America. I mention him whenever I can - just the other day, when asked which piece of art I would memorise for future generations, I nominated his 'Vomiting Into The Gaping Anus Of Christ' routine from 90s Comedian.
I wondered how many people…
The Returned began its run in the UK last night, a French drama about dead people returning to a town after a few years and not realising they're dead. It was pretty good, pretty stylish, avoiding the horror trope of things happening loudly and suddenly. Hope it doesn't turn silly halfway through. Anyone know if it…
Yeah, James Herbert died a month or two ago now. I mentioned it on here somewhere, and no one seemed to know him. I would've thought he sold reasonably well in America - King mentions him warmly in Danse Macabre.
'Tightly' was the first song of hers I heard, on a cover-mounted CD sold with a music mag. When she hit the word 'walking' in the first line, that was it - instantly my favourite female singer.
@avclub-74b75b2f2af434a58d56ef25d8e2b9c9:disqus I think the 70s - mid80s films at least have a natural sounding flow to the dialogue, though obviously it's heightened for the sake of wit. But there are certain scenes in the more recent ones where you can hear the actors struggling to get the words across. I think he…
In too many of his recent films, the dialogue seems barely even first draft - it's like he knows what the characters need to say to advance the scene, but he doesn't bother to make it sound like real talking. Suppose the actors don't have the nerve to ask for rewrites.
We seem to be misunderstanding each other. (Sarcasm doesn't come through very well on here, does it?)
@avclub-97b2d5e5f92c333976018236d76658d9:disqus Stop being vulgar, please.
I actually only have a vague idea what a fratboy is. It's not a nice thing, am I right?
I wondered if Tom Sharpe would get a mention anywhere here. Nice to see this.
Liked for 'that that'.
Stewart Lee's 'Vomiting Into The Gaping Anus Of Christ' routine from '90s Comedian. In fact, all of '90s Comedian.
Also in no order:
I'm very sorry, @avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus, but I'm British and I don't know what a roofie is.
She makes me swoon. Looking forward to this album more than any other this year.
Just reading that this sort of thing could happen is the greatest moment of my life.
You've got yourself a deal.
