I don't see.  Neither the NYT article nor the AV club puts events in that order.  Here it says that a settlement was being discussed, and then the accuser recanted.  No mention that he ever will be paid.  Did I miss something?  I often do.  But I'm feeling so creeped out by the discussion under the first AV club
