I guess "bickering" is what a lot of people think debating is, including some debaters.  Sigh.

A couple of points here.  There is such a thing as man-hating, just as there is such a thing as white-hating.  When someone keeps his foot on your neck for a long enough time, it's not unreasonable to hate them.  Joanna Russ wrote an article about this decades ago, for a book that's probably out of print… but OMG it's

Well, if you looked at the history of the women's movement, you'll get a better sense of when, if not why, though I think the why is obvious enough.  Uppity women have always been demonized, it doesn't matter what they're called.  The first women students to enter the elite British universities — Oxford, Cambridge —

I've been hearing a lot of Bob Dylan's latest on the community radio station, and a lot of people have been commenting on the state of his voice.  But on "You Know I'm No Good", Jackson sounds like Dylan on helium.  Maybe they should work together.

His voice doesn't sound high to me at all.  You all were expecting James Earl Jones?

On some early tracks — The Strand, Virginia Plain, Street Life — they rock pretty hard.  And those are most of my favorite songs by Roxy.

Blasphemy though it might be, I can't believe that Dylan's "Titanic" could equal Jaime Brockett's "Legend of the USS Titanic", starring Jack Johnson.

BFD.  A year or two ago publishers were putting out trade paperbacks of the Brontes, Austen, and other female writers with covers inspired by Twilight. Even screwing with the texts is fine if it's done entertainingly.  Ever heard of Slash Fan Fiction?  Or Jane Austen's Fight Club?  Or porn inspired by Ben and Jerry's
