I'm not enjoying Gina this season. She's basically a cartoon character. I get that they have to scale back her plots due to Perretti's pregnancy, but having her just outwit everyone and then marvel at herself isn't funny.

Didn't AIDA craft a similar portal without a sling ring earlier this season? I'm assuming that the sling ring is just a shortcut that the sorcerers use to use that type of magic.

Now I'm just thinking that Mallory Jansen would've been a perfect Jessica Drew.

He's a MODOK, isn't he?

Robbie and Daisy's team up was hot. I'm into it.

Ideally, the show would weave the actual "Purge" night into each episode in some way. Like, one season focuses on a specific group in the days leading up to or immediately after a Purge, and it gives you time to focus on like, the psychological or emotional toll that this world creates. But then, my favorite part of

I get it, though? Focusing on like, the political landscape, the year-long preparation, the economy, the types of entertainment consumed, etc. makes sense for an anthology show, especially if they'll still flashback to Purge Nights.

It's partly why I've always liked the Wild Cards stories' take on the superpower lottery. It's like, yeah, of course most mutations would suck horribly.

Holy shit.

What the hell are you even talking about?

Runaways. That book was so important to me. It's a shame that I think so far only Nico's come out of it unscathed in the post-title years?

I'm re-reading The Sandman by Neil Gaiman during my lunch hour, and I'm trying to get through 100 Years of Solitude (Cien años de soledad) in the original Spanish before bed time. Both are a challenge.

I read it recently, and I adored it. It captures epic and weird and big in a way that feels right for a book about an alien Norse God. I think the old-fashioned approach works to its favor.

Hot Dog!

So it's season two of No Tomorrow?

That's a good guess. But I still weirdly hope it's Paul just to see how the Arrow writers could justify it.

Uhm, it's pronounced "Squeakquel."

The writers are leaning a bit too hard on Boyle going full-Boyle, I feel. Dude's more than just being inappropriate, right? He's the guy who jumps in front of a bullet for a fellow cop, and I wish they'd maybe rein him in a little bit.

you're the meme now, dog
