Right now I'm reading My Sister, My Love by Joyce Carol Oates. This is the first book of hers I've read, picked it as a best guess after looking at which ones were on the library shelf.

House of Leaves. All I can say is that if you can finish it, you can finish anything. Definitely worth the struggle, though.
