I saw this recently. I really appreciated that the love interest looked like the kind of friendly-faced dude that I would actually be interested in/have a chance with in real life. I don't think I've ever seen a romcom with a love interest who didn't look like a total dick.

Yeah, Marceline's story provided some insight about the way she feels about herself, as well as genuine admiration for Finn and his good nature. LSP isn't really interested in much besides herself so Fionna didn't get much characterization at all in this.

Seriously, did Piper really believe that Red would never find out from her sons or whatever? I think that she will be in trouble when Red finds out she lied.

Seriously! That idiot thinks that there shouldn't be a show about a women's prison because there are so many more male prisoners. How about giving women equal representation in every other fucking show on the planet because they are 51% of the population. What's that? Some shows exist to tell men's stories, and that's

I know one person who has never seen classic Simpsons, only new Simpsons, and another person who has never seen an episode of the Simpsons. They were both raised in extremely religious households; one was a homeschooled evangelical, and the other is the daughter of a minister.

Her lines about fixing the prison system are hard to take seriously, and I doubt you are even supposed to take them seriously. I know it's never made clear her husband's political affiliation, but an embezzling closeted slimeball just screams "Republican." It's hard to believe that if he gets elected, he's going to

I wonder if the actress playing old Rosa was told that her character was Hispanic and she's just not doing a good job with that accent, or if she was supposed to be playing someone ethnically indistinct and they decided to make her Hispanic at the last minute. The name "Rosa" can go with a lot of different cultures.

Vee is of the belief that there can only be one winner, one person left standing, and that person is going to be her. She will manipulate people to her own ends however she can and discard them when they are no longer useful.

Why does McNutt keep referring to "Nurse" Ingalls? Sister Ingalls is a nun, not a nurse.

I teared up during that part. It broke my heart to see them fighting during season 2, I want them to be perfect BFFs forever.

Yeah, I've wondered about that too. Who are the other counselors? Maybe the producer feels that the show is too crowded without adding another person in power with a distinct personality to the mix.

He's an emotionally fragile homophobe, but once he hangs out with Caputo socially, he starts taking his job seriously again. I was hoping this season was going to give him kind of a redemptive arc, and it kind of did, nothing too sweeping and grand, though. It's still believable.

I agree that it's catnip to the audience, but more so because not a lot of other shows are doing it. TV producers are acting like audiences won't watch a show unless it has much of the action revolving around men, and queer characters and POC are relegated to the sidelines or addressed in a very cursory way. A lot of

The one part that had me tearing up in season one is when Taystee has to leave prison without saying goodbye to Poussey, and the way she starts dancing when she glimpses Poussey rushing to the window. Such a small thing, but so emotional!

Word. I grew up watching TV and seeing only interchangeable token females who are basically plot devices or background dressing (I'm looking at you, G.I. Joe cartoon). If I was lucky, MAYBE there was one female character of substance per show/movie. I feel like I hit the jackpot with OITNB. And My Little Pony:

Four-year-old Suzanne really nailed that crazed expression that could make you tell she had more going on than just being an awkward/poorly socialized kid.

I haven't watched all the episodes yet, but I think there's more to the story of Christopher and Morello than we've been told so far. Nicky said that Christopher came to visit Morello a couple of times when she first got in but soon stopped…if she really saw that happen, was he really desperate to get away from her?

I know! For someone who is in prison for being delusional and psycho, I'm surprised she was trusted with the van-driving job. Wouldn't a better candidate be Claudette or Yoga Jones or even Taystee, someone who isn't at such risk of chaotic behavior?

Yeah, I took it that Claudette was so meticulous about cleaning up the murder that the crime was never attached to her. There were rumors that she killed someone, so maybe she had been a suspect, but at the very least they couldn't prove that she did it.

My dude and I quote that to each other whenever we or another driver makes a risky/assholish maneuver.
