The Season 2 "push the button" arc bookended with Desmond is some of the best television I've seen in my life. Season 3 got lost on Hydra Island and muddled at the start, but the parachutist string from the middle to the end is great and "Not Penny's Boat" is unforgettable.

LOST will never truly get its due in spite of 5 stellar seasons because of a very questionable final season and finale which some hold in contempt as an oversimplification and a cop-out.

Wow. Been watching since I was 12 in 1997, but thanks for the tip. I was only saying how certain episodes past a mark are more week-to-week news parodies while "Scott Tenorman" and "Towelie" don't reference anything of the sort.

I was moreso referring to how I was able to reconcile past South Park shenanigans with modern South Park 24-hour news addressing and this episode managed to do it. Y'know, like J.J. Abrams.

This is interesting. I didn't like the first parts because, really? This is what the "World of Warcraft" "You Got F'd in the A" South Park is doing now? It felt too topical and phoned in.

I've seen a good chunk of every cop show procedural and I must've missed those thousands of episodes then.
