Indeed.

Yes, I think they like to spar, but I miss the occasional united front and/or tender moment. Hell, I don't care what they do, as long as they are onscreen. I love them both to pieces. Great dames!

Eh, there may be a glimmer of truth in this, but I personally like the diversity of women characters in this show, especially now. Love Mary. Unlike some others, I think the revelation about her skills is something she and John will move through. Since he did not read her file, she will continue to surprise him—which,

—Bates always seems to have time on his hands to lean and brood.

Daisy's doing well as Second Cook. She has achieved something at Downton, and if Mrs. Patmore needed to rest, Daisy would be First Cook. That's nothing to sneeze at. I think she's caught up in Downton life—it's more lively for a young woman than life on a farm.

Lol.

It stands to reason that access to Magnussen's files would have been locked to anyone but Magnussen, so anyone else who wore the glasses would see nothing. I, like you, suspect that there was an actual filebase of some kind. Though I absolutely loved the idea that someone besides Sherlock could have a mind palace, or

I agree, it would have been good to see Magnussen in a previous episode. His arc felt rushed for such a significant baddie—a threat to national security, international security? A pain in the ass to Mycroft? Besides, Mikkelsen has tremendous screen presence, face-licking and face-flicking aside.

@Marquis Moon, I like your twisted theory about the brain in a bowl..

I vote against the third brother being Moriarty.

I agree with your first paragraph, but seriously wasn't buying the suicide mission. Perhaps it would have been a suicide mission for anyone but Mycroft's brother. Remember how the season began.

I agree with you, but since we generally don't see Sherlock pull a gun, the outcome was still a surprise to me.

I don't understand what all the downvotes are about. Use your words.

Magnussen's reference to Janine in the final scenes—was that to goad Sherlock? Was it to stoke the viewers to support Magunussen's destruction by Sherlock's hand? Or did Magnussen really torture Janine?

Egad!

YES!

I wasn't giving you a choice :-)

—Appledore—sounds like something from Harry Potter—did not disappoint—glorious architecture and landscaping!

Almost Famous.

The voice.
