God, I hate that song.  I actually hate most solo Joe Walsh stuff because it sounds like such a studio construct with all these parts that don't really go together.  Out of his radio hits, that's probably the worst offender - it just drags on and on with no momentum, and the instrumental middle is interminable.  The

It's different in Miami.  They need to keep everyone informed because A) the city is half serial killers, B) the police never catch anyone, and C) the TVs are all tuned by law to the Plot-Advancing News Channel.

You know damn well "Dexter" will even fuck THIS up.  It will get a C and we'll all leave highly dissatisfied.

Boring is exactly how I feel about it now.  Which breaks my heart.  Even when it was dumb the show used to always be exciting.  Remember the little cat-and-mouse thing between Dexter and the animal control guy in season 6 (I think it was)?  When they managed to tranquilize each other and both ended up in the hospital

You're fucking kidding me, right?

I think most people are disappointed in "Dexter" relative to what it used to be and to what it could have been.  That it also sucks relative to "Breaking Bad" is just gravy.

No it's not.  Jesse is a murdered who never wanted to murder anyone and was tortured by guilt and despair for months afterward.  He's done and been party to some horrible things - he's no innocent babe.  But at the same time, he's been manipulated and pushed by Walt at every turn, pulled back in more times than I can

Vince Gilligan: "Oh no, thealiasman!  We've got lots of extra tension in reserve!  Walt Jr. - go get those 10 gallon buckets marked UNBEARABLE TENSION out of the walk-in freezer, would ya? And while you're in there, there's a box as big as you that says STOMACH-CHURNING HORROR - gonna need that one as well. Thank

Well first of all, sometimes TV and movies drag things out a bit because suspense and proper conclusions to your themes and character arcs is more important than pure realism.

Interesting.  I was predicting that we might see the final, ultimate display of Heisenberg when he comes back for Uncle Jack & co., but your argument is so good that now I'm changing my mind.

@avclub-1d392d6cd50709b355aa35602cb1b7cc:disqus  What made that line work for me is that it wasn't just a cool-guy thing for Hank to say; it's Walt's character in the smallest possible nutshell.  He thinks he can wheedle and lie and negotiate anyone in any situation.  And up until this episode, most of the time, he

I just saw this episode last night and am in here reading comments about it because I was really curious how others would react.  This post seems like possibly a very large overreaction to me.  Think of it this way: if this basic plot was a "Freaks and Geeks" episode instead, would it bother you at all?  And if not,

Tortoise is annoying?  Huh.  I thought they were unheard of by 99.8% of people, and either mildly liked or mildly disliked by the rest.

I hope that, afterward, you did a fist pump and an explosion noise with your mouth and said, "Boom! Another friendship destroyed by a clever quip! I'm the MAN!"

Take me to duh play I luuuhhhhh! Take me all duh way!

"compared to home-cooked food from your own garden"

Is it?  I've heard this a lot (on the internet), but it seems like decent quality food for fast food.  The vegetables don't look like they just came out of a vacuum-packed box and the walk-in freezer, and the meat looks like actual meat.  I'd give them an above-average rating among these Mexican grill places that have

1. Duh  2. At least they pay almost a buck an hour more than most fast food places  3. Nobody's making you order that football-sized burrito, fatty.  I get two tacos and no rice or beans, and it's pretty good calorie-wise.

And that bothers me not a whit.  If we were all better and more ethical consumers, corporations would be more responsible.  Their shittiness is on us almost as much as it is on them.

Dave has the hardest audience to control in all of comedy.  It's not his fault that his smart, aware comedy was latched onto by idiots and douchebags.
