This semi-mirrors my feelings.  I actually thought the episode was better in isolation than what it represents in the grand scheme of things.  The season has indeed gotten as rudderless as I feared it would, and is the whole Russian mafia story really going to wrap up with A) Dexter learning a lesson, and B) Quinn

I doubt Michael Hall is laughing all the way to anything.  He's probably a dude who is happy to be working and occasionally getting a small amount of awards attention.  I doubt that he makes all that much money for this role, and I'm sure he's not eagerly anticipating its ending because he is now going to be typecast

I agree.  The role was thankless because the direction it would take was so transparent (especially since it pretty much copied note-for-note - but much quicker - the arc with Rita's ex back in the early seasons).  But Jim Beaver was good because Jim Beaver can't be less than good, and the fact that he's such a

I'm not in love with Ronin for a couple reasons - all the performances are a little flat (though it seems the director was going for that) and it's impossible to tell what the fuck is going on, or at least I felt that way when I saw it years ago.  Maybe I'd feel differently now, but at the time I thought it was

I realize we're all mad at De Niro for throwing away his gift, but let's not go crazy.  This movie was 1987.  After that: The Untouchables, Midnight Run, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, This Boy's Life, A Bronx Tale, Casino, Heat, Cop Land, Jackie Brown, and Silver Linings Playbook (seriously).  Those are all good-to-great

Moore was barely even moving when Sanchez hit him.  In closing, Sanchez is an idiot.

Good call. That was one of the last episodes I watched on purpose, and it really, really sucked.

That might be my favorite bit in all of Simpsons history.  The first ten times I watched that scene I laughed until I cried.
