@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus , both my brother and a good friend of mine have made the Massachusetts to DC trek, and they both loved it down there.  If you can take the heat, there really in plenty to do.  And most of the stuff in DC is free!

It really is the fact that it was so radically different when it came out and the fact that to this day it's still pretty unique.  Sure there are other sketch comedy shows, but there is a big difference between a recorded sketch show and a live one.  The immediacy is what makes it so memorable, something happens…

It might partially have to do with not being British, given how much they are a part of the pop culture in the UK, but it also has to do with nostalgia for the old series in general.  The Daleks are from just the second serial back in 1963 after all, and back then they probably seemed much more serious then today.…
