I love the character building on DS9, and I think the show was always designed for it.  The TNG model was always to use the characters as a set mould though which to tell stories, but the stories were never ones that would fundamentally change the character.  Picard got some great character moments, but he was

I just want to see Michael Dorn say in full make-up, 'We are getting the band back together.'

Worked, took a week of vacation on the Cape, went to DC for a weekend, and watched some of the third season of DS9.  I bounced around a bit, but I think I'm a bit more prepared for these reviews then last season.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus , both my brother and a good friend of mine have made the Massachusetts to DC trek, and they both loved it down there.  If you can take the heat, there really in plenty to do.  And most of the stuff in DC is free!

If the season finale is titled, 'Lungburrow', you might be on to something!

It might partially have to do with not being British, given how much they are a part of the pop culture in the UK, but it also has to do with nostalgia for the old series in general.  The Daleks are from just the second serial back in 1963 after all, and back then they probably seemed much more serious then today.
